So do I need to logout and log back in because my forum username is already the same as my Xbox gamer tag? I’m so confused

You should be fine. If the site logs you out once the logins are updated, simply log back in with your Xbox information. Otherwise, there’s nothing you need to do or worry about.

So if we don’t link the two by (Insert Unknown Date Here) we’ll be locked out of our forum account correct?

Quick question. Already linked my Xbox email alias but both my Xbox account and forum account are 2FA’d, which service’s authentication would take over once the system is switched over, or will I have to set it up again?

I logged out and logged back in, when it says login with username is that my Xbox gamer tag? Because it gives me an option to login with my email or username and those are the only two options it gives me.

You shouldn’t need to link anything, just make sure that the primary email address on your forum account is the same as the one you use for Xbox. :+1:t2:

As you’d be logging in through Microsoft, essentially, I would assume it will use their 2fa.

This change is not active yet, so right now you’ll still be using your forum login like normal. In the future you’ll be directed to login with Xbox.

So everyone is going to be automatically logged out and everyone who wants to keep using the forums has to log in again using their Xbox account?

so when i made my xbox live thing, i was stupid and used my dads email. I keeped using it and now i don’t wanna make a new email becuase i have achivements and levels on the hive

so the forums update is big oof

Your levels and stuff aren’t synced to your email they’re synced to your account.

You can change the email tied to your Microsoft account, which would probably keep your info because it’ll be recognised as the same account.

I think you can have multiple on one Microsoft account, so the login would still work from his email

Welp when this change happens, that means goodbye this forum account I’ve only had for like a week…

(the email for my forum account and the email for xbox live are completely different. I dont even know the password for the email for xbox live as it’s not mine…even if I do figure out the password and switch emails, I’m probably gonna quit the forums cause I really dont want people seeing my super weird username full of cringe i made when i was younger for java, then making a username almost completely the same when I got my xbox and was making an account…)

I didnt even get to become a full member on here and I actually kind of wanted to get regular…well those dreams were smashed into the black hole.
