You know swords and armor aren’t the only items in the game, right? Lure them onto a bridge and knock them off, use dories, get creative.
Somebody with chain mail armor could do that too.
70% of players can’t do a one block clutch my guy. Only above average players can pull those clutches off. Also, it’s not like diamond armor is so much cheaper than dories. 2 ems and 28 diamond difference.
It is. If you’re side rushing everybody in 5 minutes it won’t ever appear. For everybody else, don’t let people camp diamond gens and mid.
So you debunked your own test before explaining it?
If you were lying you would lose all your credibility on this topic so there’s no reason for me to think you’d be lying. Unless, of course, you brought this up BECAUSE YOU ARE A LIAR (Sarcasm).
Fantastic idea. Let’s add iron armor to do that. Seriously though, the point of diamond armor is that your a tank that can combat sweats. Lowering it’s protection would defeat the point of getting it.
You know that applies to people not rushing diamond armor as well, right?
A price increase to something like 16 Ems - 16 Diamonds would be nice. I think it’s far too easy to get too quickly right now, simple price changes would help alot.
I didn’t contradict myself. I started by saying vanilla and Hive diamond armour is different, then I proceeded to explain the tests I’ve done and anyone else can do to prove that.
My bad, I’ll try to word it better next time.
Yes, please Hive, I want this. I personally would make it even more expensive, but that price is good enough for me.
I find it fun to debate, or I wouldn’t be going back and forth repeatedly pushing this topic to the top allowing more people to see it and potentially disagree with me and/or vote for it. That’s not your decision to make either, it’s the staff’s.
This may be too much to ask for, but what if Hive were to change all the armour to have the same protection as in vanilla Minecraft. This would mean that if one were to be in full diamond it would take thirteen hits to kill them with a stone word, eleven hits with an iron sword, and nine hits with a diamond sword.
This means the price for diamond armour could be the same or less than it is, since this change would half the protection of diamond armour. Then Hive could add protection as an armour enchantment for late game.
I already know my suggestion is going to get a ton of hate, but I think it would be a great change to the armour system.
Vanilla is seven hits from stone sword, six from iron sword, and five from diamond will kill full iron armour player, without critical hits or regeneration.
On Hive, it takes ten hits with a stone sword, ten hits with iron sword, and seven with diamond sword, without taken regeneration into account. Meaning every hit with a stone or iron sword does one heart and diamond swords do one and a half to full iron armour. For the sake of completing I also tested a wooden sword, and I found the wooden sword does half a heart to a full iron player. It also does half a heart to a full diamond player, which is the same as the other three swords in the game.
I agree. Both iron and diamond pickaxes, the axe, and all four swords in the game do the same damage to a diamond clad player, and that makes no sense. And just because I like to be organised I can put them all down below. This is how the armour systems currently are:
Vanilla Minecraft
Chain mail armour
Wooden Sword: Seven hits
Stone Sword: Six hits
Iron Sword: Five hits
Diamond Sword: Four hits
Iron armour
Wooden Sword: Eight hits
Stone Sword: Seven hits
Iron Sword: Six hits
Diamond Sword: Five hits
Diamond armour
Wooden Sword: Sixteen hits
Stone Sword: Thirteen hits
Iron Sword: Eleven hits
Diamond Sword: Nine hits
Hive Minecraft
Chain mail armour
Wooden Sword: 2 HP (Ten hits)
Stone Sword: 3 HP (Seven hits)
Iron Sword: 3 HP (Seven hits)
Diamond Sword: 4 HP (Five hits)
Iron armour
Wooden Sword: 1 HP (Twenty hits)
Stone Sword: 2 HP (Ten hits)
Iron Sword: 2 HP (Ten hits)
Diamond Sword: 3 HP (Seven hits)
Diamond armour
Wooden Sword: 1 HP (Twenty hits)
Stone Sword: 1 HP (Twenty hits)
Iron Sword: 1 HP (Twenty hits)
Diamond Sword: 1 HP (Twenty hits)
Remember this doesn’t count Regeneration
I don’t know why I did all the effort to do that, but I hope this helps clear up confusion. As you can see the Hive armour system makes way less sense than the vanilla Minecraft system. Feel free to correct anything I may have done wrong.
I think upping the price would work. The main problem in my opinion is that people can get diamond armor in less than 5 minutes if they steal diamonds from the generators around the map fast enough, which basically makes them unstoppable one on one. I also notice that it feels like I’m dealing no damage sometimes to someone with full diamond when they eat 1 golden apple, even if I have a diamond sword.
