But I am good, I’m not complaining that bedwars is too hard. I’m saying for the good of the game, make it balanced.
It just needs to cost more, not actually nerfing it
So we want people puppy guarding mid for even longer?
I feel as if that kinda is a key aspect of bedwars, to have more fighting to see who gets mid. Which would add more skill to the game.
I like diamond armor the way it is, there is no need to change it
Being able to hit people off their bridge from the safety of mid isn’t skill.
It’s a core gameplay mechanic until somebody with 20 dories, full iron, and a wall that for some reason they think will protect them camps their island and dories you off if you try to final kill them. Moreover, if it’s too expensive people will just load up on dories and kill people in one hit after someone breaks their bed.
It’s more balanced than S1 now with all these items and stuff.
But again you need to get to mid to have dories, it’s mostly balanced, we just need to tackle diamond armor.
True I think 28 ems is a little too high how bout 20?
I don’t know, it fit treasurewars, but as we know those are totally different games. Hive would need to have the tests which they did in like 2019 for TW.

28 emeralds and 32 diamonds. that would take way too long unless there is only 2 people in the game and you’re the only one getting the emeralds… So either 28 emeralds or 4+32 but 28 and 32 is way too much…
Or make it cost 8 or 12 instead of 4 emeralds plus the diamonds.
Yes i support. Maybe more emerald and less diamonds would be better, because the diamond generators are sooo slow (especially in the beginning) that it takes forever to get 32 diamonds. Maybe 8 emeralds+16 diamonds?
I feel like 16 diamonds is too easy. Maybe 24 diamonds 8 emeralds. Because then you’re taking 8 diamonds away and adding 4 emeralds. Or maybe 20 diamonds. 24 sounds better in my opinion though
If I’m not mistaken it takes 30s to get 1 emerald for the first 5 minutes and 15s to get 1 diamond.
Doing the math, here is how long it would theoretically take to get diamond armour using generator production and not max gen or any luck:
Normal diamond - 2m (8 on each diamond gen, 1 on each emerald gen required)
28 emeralds - 3m 30s (7 on each emerald gen needed, you would need to travel instantly though or this can’t happen)
28 emeralds 20 diamonds - 3m 30s (due to emeralds)

Diamond armor is LATE game. Currently you only need ONE trip to mid to get diamond armor. That is very unbalanced. Something like 16 emeralds and 32 diamonds would be good.

The problem isn’t that we aren’t good enough to handle players in diamond armour. I for one am fully capable of killing the average diamond clad player while I am in iron. The problem is that diamond is just annoying to deal with, even if it may be a fair fight. It takes way too many hits to kill a player in diamond, and if one were to just eat golden apples, they would heal faster than they could be killed. And if combined with ender pearls, you could end up chasing someone for ten minutes across the map while they just eat golden apples and pearl away.
Dories are balanced in my opinion. In your average game, no one will have time to get dories. One single hit with a dory costs six emeralds, which is a big price just to have the other play easily ender pearl clutch.
But again, each hit with a dory costs six emeralds. Diamond armour costs only four emeralds to have permanent protection against a ton of damage.
Diamond armour needs to be a late game item. I agree on the twenty-eight emerald price tag. That would force players to go to middle more often for longer, therefore reducing base-camping. To the contrary, as it is now, it takes one trip to get the necessary four emeralds to get diamond.
I get a lot of players are for diamond armour. So I have a compromise. We all know that diamond armour is not the same on Hive as in vanilla Minecraft, at least those of us who are experienced. And if you don’t believe me, I prove it by going on a vanilla Minecraft world with a friend and turning off natural regeneration, and I killed him twice with each of the three swords in bedwars, first with a stone, then iron, and then diamond sword. And with this test I found that it takes thirteen hits to kill a player in full diamond with a stone sword, eleven with an iron sword, and lastly nine with a diamond sword. This is probably common knowledge to any experienced Hive player, but I tried the same thing on a Hive custom server and found that these three weapons each take twenty hits to kill a full diamond player. I wasn’t including regeneration, which would probably raise that number to twenty-five or more. If you don’t believe me, just repeat the tests I did. Obviously this is a huge difference. So I propose that Hive simply lowers the protection of diamond armour, to cause it to be that the three types of swords don’t all do only half a heart.
Additionally, I would like to point out that in vanilla you can kill players in full diamond even faster than this by critically hitting them, which isn’t possible in Hive.
Sorry for the massive block of text. lol. I’m just very passionate about this. In my humble opinion, diamond armour, as it currently exists, is the worst feature in Hive bedwars, and it always will be my least favourite feature if it isn’t changed.
