Diamond was the clearest way to have a massive advantage in Pvp, especially for players not good enough to effectively use pearls; before totems and potions were added there was no chance you’re killing a diamond player, unless you’re extremely good and they aren’t, and most of us would get super annoyed when we see that one guy who has diamond gear right after the first rush, and if they were good at all we’d stand little chance. Now that potions and totems can tear through players’ healths this has been less of a problem, but I still would greatly appreciate if the armor system was changed.
Perhaps make it so you spawn with leather armor and as you upgrade you only upgrade the leggings and chestplate. This would actually give people with an armor disadvantage a decent chance in a 1v1.
Another decent option would be making diamond armor way more expensive, so that it’s really only a late game item.
I would also not be opposed to the total removal of diamond armor, because I don’t think it adds any real benefit to the game, and I’m satisfied with the decent number of hits it takes to kill a player in iron. I do realize, however, that this would be a massive change many players would oppose to, and diamond armor has been in the game so long it’s difficult to remove it now, which is why I think the former suggestions would be good.
This doesn’t even just apply to diamond armor; if you’re some un-armored player and you see this guy in iron armor coming up, you’re probably not going to win. If you don’t have armor and some guy in chain comes up, you’re probably not going to win. Even if you’re in chain and you’re fighting iron guy, you’re still unlikely to win. (I am not taking into account if one player is way better than the other) I think this should be changed.
I realize this is quite late to be making these suggestions as treasure wars and bedwars have been around so long, but I’m relatively new to the Hive and would enjoy seeing diamond armor made less over-powered.

Also diamond armour itself is already expensive at 32 diamonds and 4 emeralds. Also u can counter diamond players by shooting them with a bow and arrow if they are on the bridge or wind charge them
Diamond is too op, i voted. either make the stuff cost more or make it less op compared to iron armor by enchanting more of the iron set or something.
thats like saying diamond is skywars is also op. also diamond dont need a price increase, there are ways to counter diamond armoured players

What if you only got the chestplate but it could be upgraded a protection for 10 diamonds and 2 emeralds?

Yes, this is similar to ctf, but I was thinking more than just the helmet being leather, possibly helmet and chestplate or helmet and boots. All other servers I’ve played have this feature, who would oppose? Although 32 diamonds and 4 emeralds sounds expensive; it really isn’t and there are still the players that get it ridiculously and annoyingly quick.
Yes, but in skywars you get diamond one piece at a time, and most likely people have half diamond. Let’s be honest this is fun in sky, but bed is a different game and I think diamond should be less common in it.
