I think he lost ideas TT(no I actually don’t know I do know he did say he no longer had ideas and kinda seemed like he semi-retired, but idk).
Got swallowed by a black hole bro
David left Hive a few months ago, I just joined the forums then, so idk if he left them too, but the formerly active player kinda stopped being there. I didn’t know him that well, but it was always nice to see him in a game lobby and say hi.
WE MISS YOU DAVID!

BUMP! We need a Region for every continent except Antarctica
Ayo what was that shade for? /j
Also, this is a dupe but ig nobody checked lol.
Hey I am one! I didn’t know you are also a geography nerd. I specialize in flags, what about you? Anyway if people want this, I would say this would work
We could help hive by searching for safe and known city’s in Africa. So the top 3 would be
- Abuja (Nigeria)
- Kairo (Egypt)
- Windhoek (Namibia)
I think of the 3 Abuja would probably be Hives choice
WHY NOT ANTARCTICA?
I’m a lonely fellow who lives there…
With region agnostic rolling in, i dont think we will need this but if it fails then maybe
Adding regions is a substantial cost in server hire, bandwidth (where applicable) and additional maintenance overhead on the staffing side. With our current region setup, we’ve split the world in 3 based and where possible, regions are hosted as close as possible to the biggest population centers.
Even at double our current player numbers, adding a new region will not be sustainable as it further splits the player base, even with region agnostic technology.
Finally, our current server provider does not offer any services in the entire African continent.
We’ll continue to evaluate our regions over time, but in the short terms, we have no plans for any additional regions or changes to the geographic location of our current hosting.
