Request for Africa Region
Adding an Africa region could attract a lot of new players and make the server even more diverse and exciting. It would be a great way to expand the community. Thanks for considering! 
I can see to the moderator responding: “There are no plans to open a new region for the continent of Africa” followed by: “thanks for commenting”

The reality is that, if they wanted to, they would have already done it. You would have to attract the attention of a lot of people over there to get them to come and vote here. Welcome to The Hive forums. I apologize for being so blunt.

Possibly they will add it. But I will continue to make these comments; More than a criticism, they are a kind of… forecast. And I would like to fail, as it would mean a positive outcome for the suggestion above.

This is a great idea. It would be easier for a lot of players. I am from Europe so I don’t have the problem but since there are only 3 regions others do.
They once had a Oceania Region why can’t they add one for every continent.

Please stop acting like the mods (Basically only Splodger) are evil and try to shut down as many posts as possible. People don’t want to listen to you say that every single time you comment. Saying it for extremely unreasonable suggestions is fair, but you don’t need to say it for everything.
I don’t understand why/how you are still an active forumer when you think this way unless you’re trying to bring down other people with you because you genuinely believe that or Splodger took down a bunch of your “unfit” suggestions and now you’re salty.

WHOOO, we have some excellent Twitter squabbling between @Shogunater and @JoseAntonio1674 going on… Maybe add this IF enough people in Africa would play it. But the thing is, Brazilians play in North America, most of the africans probably go to EU, so is it required?
And no, I don’t mean X I mean twitter, X squabbling sounds less fun.

A South African player would/does not have the same ping as an Algerian player. Due to conflicts, it can be hard to find a stable place for a server room. But I think a good place could be Central Africa. I was thinking Kigali (Capital of Rwanda), eastern DRC, or the Central African Republic.
Also, in case you were implying Africans are too poor to be able to play on The Hive (You might not be trying to, but I want to clear this myth up either way), that is certainly not the case. There are thriving (For a third world country) countries in Africa like Nigeria (Specifically Lagos), Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, etc.

Yea Africa doesn’t live in the stoneage any more like some people think. Yes there are also small villages in africa but there are also small villages in Europe and Asia. There are also huge city’s in africa look up some fotos of Abuja (Nigeria)

DRC and Central African Republic are currently incredibly war-torn/impoverished, so that really is not a good idea. (No offense.)
I’m NOT trying to imply that Africans are too poor to do Minecraft. I’m actually incredibly nerdy about history and geography, and I understand that the myth only applies to select places, and countries like Ghana and Benin are developed. I’m just trying to point out that maybe it wouldn’t have enough players to be worth making.
I get the thing about Ping, what I was trying to say was that Africans can play even if there isn’t an Africa region. Considering Alegeria is one of the most northern African countries and South Africa is the farthest south, that seems very obvious lol.
I’m not even opposed to this idea at all, I just think that it would be a huge undertaking and should only be done if a large African player base would show up to make this worth it.

I know that, I was just thinking about their central location. Kigail would probably be the best but Nairobi, Kenya could work as well.
Asia has like, what, 500-1k players peak? So the bar isn’t very high. As long as the players are willing to and keep spending money, The Hive (In terms of finances) will not care how many players there are as long as it’s profitable.

This implies you are against the idea because you mention how the Brazillians just connect to North American servers as if the same arrangement could work for a Europe and Africa. So, it implies Africans don’t need a seperate server set-up.
The reputation of American knowledge of geography isn’t exactly the greatest.
1: I am American; How’d you know… that’s slightly creepy.
2: I learn geography trivia for fun. I get most Americans aren’t great at it, heck, 35% of us don’t even know Congress exists, and another 35 don’t even know the Sun is a star. That’s why I try to be good at geography, I find it fun, and the world needs more geographically adept Americans.
3: I’m not saying the idea is necessary OR unnecessary.
4: I get that south of the Sahara would have awful ping.
5: I know that they’d be fine with it as long as money is spent, but people=profit, so it depends.
6: Asia has 1.2k to 1.5k players when I typically play. I know there wouldn’t need to be a huge amount of players, but it would be expensive, so it’s a question of whether they’d make money back or not.

We make up half the server playerbase lol. Also, 90% of people on here are American. The other 10% are from other Anglo countries, and some spanish-speaking players from Central America, South America, or the US.

Canadians are a large part of the player base, and they’re Anglophone and Francophone. (The fact that I know what those even are proves I have above average geography knowledge for an American XD.
