This post is less of a suggestion and more of a letter to hive. I love this server, but this really needs to be addressed.
In 2025 we have gotten 4 major updates, THREE OF THEM HAVE BEEN BEDWARS SEASONS.
I love Bedwars updates, but the fact that is the only thing getting attention upsets me. There are 14 games on hive, and yes Bedwars is the most popular, but part of the reason for that is because no other games get regular updates. Bedwars being the most updated game is ok, but because of the shear amount of attention it gets takes away from other games shining. What about Skywars seasons?
Conclusion: I’m not against Bedwars updates, or it getting more updates then the other games. I’m upset it’s taking away from other games getting updated.
Fair point, I hope they account for this and fix it, because it is a bit out of hand. Some games don’t need active updates though, and while I don’t mean all, just some like Hide and Seek only need like a yearly map to keep it feeling good and giving players new strats. Some games also don’t need Seasons, but need some LTM to thrive, like Skywars. But especially for MM, it’s a bit unacceptable how the update has had to wait for Bedwars before it gets worked on.
imo the bigger issue is how infuriating bedwars is. season 3 was the worst one by far with all these stupid OP unbalanced items and replacing cool items with call mechanics (fallboots) with anoying clanky valk wings

They are working on MM, anyways BW is its biggest game so it makes sense to update to keep it fresh and player rates high otherwise it would lose interest and then large updates every so often wouldnt have the same effect. They should capitalise on its success now not later.
The facts that season 4 is releasing before the major MM update that’s been in the works since the beginning of the year is beyond insane, like were they working on season 4 after season 3 released? I’m also concern why Manor is still available in S3, making me wonder about if Mega will stay during S4
I just want to mention, the murder mystery update was put on hold to focus on bedwars season 3…. SEASON 3?? And now season 4 will be released before this dang mm update gets to see the light of day.
Hytale now allows Micro Transactions even though they said they wouldn’t add them, so that’s great. I think I’ll stay with Minecraft due to the fact that I can actually customise my character any shape or form I want it to be.
Back on topic, I genuinely hate Bedwars for all the reasons listed above.
A huge thing that upsets me is how much time they spend on these bw updates. Firstly, we had no dr or gravity map updates this year. Two games that heavily relies on maps for its content didn’t get any. Although bedwars received huge maps with backgrounds/floors, like cmon. Bedwars doesn’t need maps like that, just give us the islands and that’s it. (That cave one is unique though, those type of maps I don’t got a problem with if the backgrounds/terrain affects the gameplay.)
Ltms, I get it, they’re fun and gives us a new way to play, but every bw season doesn’t need a new ltm. Firstly, it does take time away from the builders to release map updates for other games, but this year not really. Depends on the map(s) in that clash ltm coming out. One map is fine, but if in the future if they release ltms with a decent amount of maps, I’m going to hate it. Once again, this year this didn’t happen, megas is old maps reused, manor was just 1 map, but it’s something I can see happening in the future. Secondly it takes time away from the devs to release game updates to other modes. Sw prestige update would’ve been a great time to release more weekly items. Weekly items in sg would’ve been amazing too. Both of those aren’t big updates and could’ve been completed instead of one of these ltms.
Well said as always. I don’t even play hive much anymore because it’s not the same. I was already a bit disappointed that they released Bedwars in the first place because they removed treasure wars to do it, but it did increase their player count at first I guess, which seemed to be hives goal. But now Bedwars is the only thing they care about to the point where almost every other mode is getting neglected. I used to get excited when I got an email from hive about an update but now I see things like “67 win celebration”
Constantly updating BW isn’t my problem with it. It’s how fast the seasons come. We went from nine or so months down to four! We need to give others games the same love!
