Very recently, Hive changed the QP increment cap from 3,200 quest points to 400, which is kinda low.
More information:
While 3,200 surely was too much, 400 seems a little low for the cap of quest points you get per x accurate reports. In my opinion, 1,000 quest points or something like a hat token as an additional reward for reporting seems more fitting.
I agree with this. It should be raised up a bit, but not too much. 3,200 QP for reports kinda defeated the purpose of Quests in my opinion.
You just go to SkyWars (or wherever else idk), find a few hackers, report them, and bam, you could get two easy costume gifts, just like that.
1,200 to maybe 1,600 QP I think would be best here, but not anything higher.
Weāve changed the cap as many players felt it was dissatisfying to hit the higher ālimitā and end up with an excess of QP. Changing it to be a lower amount was a decision made to make reporting feel more satisfying with what you earn, and encourage the submitting of reports without feeling as though you arenāt gaining any thanks from it.
That isnāt to say we arenāt going to make changes in the future as weād like to improve the system overall, but the above is good to keep in mind if youāre suggesting a change on the cap specifically. Iām sure weāll also welcome other suggestions outside of changing the QP limit, as we want the system to be beneficial to the community as well as to us in terms of helping us punish rulebreakers. Just good to keep in mind why we have the QP reward system and how we can improve it for everyone without those downsides.
I do agree that 3,200 quest points, which translates to two free costumes or 16 boosters, was too much and made quests slightly irrelevant, as you can only get 100/160 quest points per day by doing quests. However, lowering it to 400 quest points per x accurate reports might now discourage players from reporting actively, as it doesnāt feel as rewarding as before anymore.
Getting to the 3,200 quest point limit was quite time consuming. Even when playing much it often took several months to get there, as you had to climb up your way by submitting accurate reports. The more knowledge you had about the server rules, the more quest points you were rewarded, which especially affected long-term and experienced Hive players. I, obviously, do not have the statistics about how many players have reached the 3,200 QP cap, but I imagine that there arenāt too many - and in-game reporting got added more than one and a half years ago.
If there are plans to improve the system overall in the future, I do not really see why this change was needed at this specific time, or more specific, why reporting was ānerfedā that much. While it was dissatisfying to hit the limit for some of us, most of us will be disappointed of the maximum now being 400 quest points.
Other rewards would surely work as well. As suggested in the main post, maybe there could be a hat token given every second time you get rewarded (only after hitting the limit), or maybe some sort of police hat for those that at least hit the limit once. But this would be good for a separate suggestion I guess. But there isnāt much that encourages you to go for the limit anymore, which was the case before this update happened.
Didnāt they also say you would get rewarded more often though? So you would essentially be getting 3200qp in the same amount of time, just given in increments of 400qp instead of all at once. (If I am completely wrong about this please let me know.)
The changes to the reporting rewards that were introduced today are a temporary solution and will be in place until we make further planned changes to the system in the future.
Until now, after submitting a large number of accurate reports, it was possible to reach a point where you would no longer receive any rewards at all. Weāve put these changes in place to allow players that have reached this ācapā to continue to receive quest points but to also add some balance.
As I mentioned, we have plans to overhaul this system at some point in the near future, these changes will not be in place forever.
actually, a lot of players hit the cap out, including myself, and no longer continued to receive rewards after receiving 3200 a several amount of times. there should not be a cap out, players should be able to receive rewards infinitely as long as they continue to submit accurate reports. because with a cap out, you lose motivation to report, as you no longer have an incentive in doing so. them removing this cap out is why they nerfed the max amount from 3200 to 400. Imagine being able to receive 3200 infinitely, and if youāre an extremely accurate reporter, receiving it once or twice a week⦠that stacks up over time and is insanely overpowered/gives zero reason to do quests and leaves you with an excessive amount of QP. however, I do believe that the nerf is too HARSH, and 800 is a much better and much more fair max amount than 400.
The thing is that their report system is broken, when I do 10 reports everyday I donāt get any qp and my friends are getting thoursands of qp and doing nothing with it, itās just stupid they need to improve it and give qp to everyone that reported someone⦠and also reporting on their discord donāt give anything (I only had 700 qp in total and I know someone with more than 15kā¦)
Players not receiving any rewards at all after hitting the cap you mentioned was for sure an issue, but no one really seems to be happy about the cap being 400 quest points now. Sure, 3,200 was too much but from most comments I have seen here in this thread and across several Discord servers, most agree that 800-1000 would be more suitable.
According to the Development Update - March 2023 post, the highest priorities are currently Gravity and Treasure Wars: Season 1. Treasure Wars: Season 1 was supposed to release during Summer 2023, however, you have mentioned on Discord that it will now release ālater this yearā as can be seen on the image below.
Knowing that, the report rewards system will likely not be overhauled for at least another few months, unless Treasure Wars: Season 1 as well as Gravity will be more delayed. Until it receives an overhaul, most players would appreciate some increase of quest points given for reporting again, as it now feels rather discouraging to report players actively.
As always, we appreciate your feedback and will be looking at the response to these changes from the wider community over the coming days and weeks.
Whilst it isnāt particularly relevant to this topic, I do want to point out that your assumption that the scheduled release of Treasure Wars Seasons has apparently changed isnāt accurate; ālater this yearā still very much includes the summer.
I also just want to note that whilst I know you mean well, this also isnāt a very accurate assessment. We have many developers that work on different areas of the server, and as such, the schedule of upcoming game updates would not impact, nor be impacted by changes to the reporting reward system.
Iāve got a question: youāre now able to get a maximum of 400qp when reporting accurate x people or can you now report people but get at the end only 400qp? I have only received 100qp once for reporting people and never again. So Iām asking if there are only 300qp left I can get by reporting accurate many times or if I can get 400qp at once for reporting many people accurate.
Well. So they changed it again recently and Iāve talked to many people and weāve gotten 25 questpoints for reporting a lot. this is again a nerf and makes people not want to report even more. I wish hive would go back to the old amount or make a new reward.
There has been no recent change to the maximum amount of QP you can achieve with reporting. As part of updates to the reporting system, we did a general reset of the underlying data set, which bumped everyone back down to the lowest reputation level and thus rewards. 400 remains the max, and since the change from 3200 400 has also been āinfiniteā where 3200 wasnāt.
For additional context, the super high levels were initially added with the goal of only having a handful of ātop reportersā hitting these levels. Whilst I can understand itās frustrating to go from tons of free products to less, I hope itās understandable that this wasnāt sustainable with pretty much all dedicated players continuously receiving a high-dollar equivalent in rewards. Rewards are there to be a small extra perk/boost to reporting, not a workaround to get everything for free.
To be super clear, we have no changes planned to this system as we think infinite 400 is more than fair for the effort of reporting.
