Put a temporary cap on forum games

Stop allowing users to create forum games for an undecided amount of time.

Fun fact: If you wait a night then look at your unreads in the morning, 3/4 of them will probably be forum games.
Don’t get me wrong, some forum games are actually decent, and fun to play
(Eg. Last to post wins, count till staff replies, are you well known etc)

But the problem is that most of the forum games are just straight up pointless, boring to play, and, in my opinion, the only purpose of them is to get a few free likes and internet points.

I wake up and there is almost always a new, pointless forum game.
If this doesn’t get accepted, maybe only allow members or even Tl3 (Regular) to create forum games. My reason being is that when you spend enough time here to get the trust levels, you should have a pretty good idea on what is good and what is bad.

Below are a few polls that I ask everyone to answer truthfully.
These will be a few questions about this, and a mix of forum games selected at random to see who actually enjoys them. Answers will be visible to everyone, so you can see the results.

Leaving my thoughts here:
Some people get regular without leaving forum games. Its annoying, because you barely see them anywhere else, and know that they aren’t really a regular outside of forum games.

Im not saying people cant post in them, I just dont want useless topics appearing everyday.

  • Counting in Spanish

  • Staff and regulars count until a member replies (basically count til staff reply but worse)
  • count until a regular replies
  • start a discussion

but don’t have regular and stuff

there are 10 forums games that are enjoyable. Thats it. All the others are either rubbish or pointless twists on the better games

I really don’t like counting games, they’re utterly pointless and not fun or original, you just reply to a person with a number that’s 1 digit higher, that’s supposed to be a game?

I hope the list isn’t in order, I don’t understand how predict can be your second most fav game

I have nothing muted and it is pain

Although forum games are cool

This is the hive forums

Not the let’s count to five and then get stopped or sing our abc’s forum

So when u barely see server related stuff when that is what u joined for, because u enjoy hive and would love to see it be successful and u want to have a part of that success, and instead just see children counting,

It’s pretty depressing.

I would love to come here everyday and leave my thoughts on a suggestion, or a new game idea, but instead I spend an hour scrolling thru MrMustacheSir and SageTester36993 singing their abc’s to infinity

I’m ngl we do get a decent amount of suggestions and stuff, but we don’t really need new forums games unless it’s really worth it

the forums goes through weeks of stagnation and stagnation can lead to toxicity, the Hive should do what 343 are doing and drop big updates news every month end, this would keep good discussions going on and lead to suggestions based off that information.

I feel like hive discussion could be brought back, I get how forum games and off-topic may have required more time from mods and been used by people who don’t really play on the hive, but hive discussion seems alright, I mean there’s probably not as much moderating needed to be done when compared to suggestions where half the posts are dupes lol, at least if they brought it back it would make sense for it to be called a “forum”

lots of people would love for the old forums to be brought back, but the team has stated the changes won’t be reverted due to how long and frustrating it was for the volunteer moderators to moderate.
