I feel like the idea for duos would be really great as you could enjoy the game with your friend
Why has this topic been so popular?
I guess because that was the only popular game on Mineplex before it shut down.
I personally would not mind building a community here too.
Hopefully we succed at building that community here because i know some people who would love to have it in hive, myself included
Yeah Iāve never played that mineplex thing but I love every bir of this idea thats why im so passionate
Glad to hear you like this idea so much i can see how passionate you are too with all your comments and suggestions to twist it up
Just Build is in a bad state at the moment with all the inappropriate builds and meh spammers so this idea could bring the JB experience but in a faster pace, If someone builds an inappropriate build they will get eliminated so thatās nice.
Yeah I just want another game like JB and this is perfect
Thats why i think lotsnof people would like this as it woudl eliminate the inappropriate builds and so forth
Having another build game would be a nice addition because its nice to relax from getting sweated on in TW, I like the idea of having another building option just for a nice quick break from PvP
Itās not similar to just build, nor itās worth comparing to it. During actual gameplay players are focused on re-creating the build so they wonāt do innapropriate stuff.
I think itās worth mentioning again that the point of the game is to re-create a build, and not to build a new one.
they had this as a microgame in the winterfest, and it was so fun. Please hive, bring it back.
Yeah thatās true I was just comparing it to JB since they have the same concept but different gameplay obviously.
A helper said would people be interested and actually play it if it came and I think the answer is yes
We have a really healthy community even after the main server closure! I donāt know any bedrock communities, but I am in a bunch of java ones. This game really IS popular on java, and I think it can work well on bedrock too.
if itās popular on java I donāt see why it wouldnāt be popular on Hive, Hypothetically if this game was added it would need updates every once in a while just to give the game a breath of fresh air
Iām ready to add mini-builds myself.
What is important to mention, is to find pro people that can test the upcoming builds, as some of the builds may be really hard and giving feedback on them is essential.
Honestly thats not a bad idea it would help speed up the development so that would be positive, If that happened you should sign up for it youād probably get accepted
I used to have quite the stats in that gamemode (over 2.5k wins and 60k perfect builds, as well as a handful amount of world records)
Bringing up the world record tracking, it could be done in-game or have a separate leaderboard on speedrun could be nice. If this gamemode will be added, I would suggest having a personal best tracker from the start.
2.5k wins is crazy and having records thats impressive I canāt lie, Was Speed Build on Java Hive or just Mineplex? Iāve never played any of them.
Yeah I feel like they should have in-game leaderboards just for convenience.
Obviously your experienced so you would know a lot about balancing, What would be considered hard for a build ( Time + Blocks ) and how long would the memorising phase be
Speed Builders was both on java and bedrock Mineplex, and I have around 30-ish on java and the rest (around 190) on bedrock, just because nobody really played it.
Usually if a build is hard it means that itās hard to either:
- Memorize (such as its easy I promise or OINYOIN)
- Execute (such as Lines of Power or Suffocate)
Some builds are not considered hard, even with having a lot of blocks, such as Diamond Block or Minoās Vault. Of course, they are mildly annoying and higher rounds.
We didnāt mess with memorization time, being always 10 seconds per build. Honestly, resonable, as they were not a lot of builds that rely on memorization. I guess Rockruff could be one of them.
For balancing, I am not really the best person to ask, but my opinion is that builds are divided into different categories (CPS builds, Aim builds, Strat builds, Memo builds, Hotkey builds) and as long as you have roughly the same amount of all types, you should be good. Of course, the best way to test is having a game with the build pool that you want to test. Experienced players are able to tell what the build pool is missing/ having too much of.
Wow this is way more complex then I initially thought.
Memorize at 10 seconds seems fine. I have no problems with that.
Bedrock has console players and mobile players so having all that might be a struggle so a ranked/competitive mode might be necessary.
