Definitely an interesting idea, but as others have said, I believe it needs a few more twists before it can be considered as a concrete game suggestion.
Also, are we sure about if this game would uphold a stable player count? With Just Build being one of our most popular games on the network, would some of it’s community shift to this new game, or would this game receive little to no community reaction?
We’d also have to think about suitable unlocks for this gamemode, and how the XP would work. I think the idea of judges definitely adds a unique spin and a possibility for custom models as the judges surely becomes apparent, but you haven’t presented any suggestions for how we could integrate level unlocks here. So, in general, I like the suggestion, but we may need a few more bits of detail here and there.
I am going to vote as I believe there’s definitely potential here.
This is simply my own idea, and this does not represent the opinions or directives of the Hive Team!

For a twist we could add in solos and duos to the game to make it more fun and interesting. For duos the building platform could be made bigger for bugger builds since there will be two players. To see if the game would uphold a stable player hive could do a vote to see if the people would like it in the game. Ill work on how the exp would work i just need to think of a few ideas, and thank you for your suggestions if you do have any ideas for a twist please say so and ill give it a thought
Sounds like a pretty cool idea. With Mineplex shut down, i think the market for a new speed builders could be easily filled by hive. Might even pull in some of the old Mineplex players if executed right.

I Have a few suggestions for a cosmetic levelling system
Max Level: 20
Cosmetics: Character Trails, Death Effects, Customisable Island and Building Mounts
Character Trails:
Level 2: Gray Swirls
Level 5: Red and Blue Swirls
Level 11: Golden Swirls
Level 13: Rainbow Swirls
Death Effects:
Level 1: Anvil Drop [When your elminated sends falling anvils]
Level 4: Inferno [Sets island on fire upon elimination]
Level 7: Midas Touch [Island turns into Gold blocks]
Level 16: Beacon [ Sends a beacon from the sky and your island explodes
Customisable Islands:
Default: Bland platform with a Blue and White colour scheme
Level 6: Tropical Island [A Tropical Island with trees and an oasis]
Level 9: Volcano [A molten volcano with ashy terrain]
Level 14: Tundra [ A cabin in a snowy terrain)
Level 19: Galaxy [ The Milkyway Galaxy compressed into your island]
Building Mounts:
Instead of putting players into creative they could ride mounts to help them get to difficult to reach areas.
Default: The spaceship mount from the hub
Level 3: A Cloud with a Lightning Bolt
Level 6: A Piggybank with wings
Level 10: The Golden throne with rocket thrusters
Level 12: Skis that somehow defy gravity
I haven’t filled all the levels I just put them as a place holder The Hive Team can rearrange or change them as they please.

I like the idea of the customisable islands, they would definitely fit into the game nicely.
Death effects seem very easily customisable, although would they destroy the entire island of the player, or just the player themselves?
Character trails would also work, I’m assuming similarly to how they function in Just Build, although maybe it would be nice to have them surround the player instead of act as trails behind them?
Building mounts could also work nicely, I don’t see any issues with these.
Overall, great ideas! Also, just a reminder to keep posts within this thread strictly on-topic with the suggestion, as continued off-topic discussion or inappropriate replies are against our forum guidelines.

The Beacon effect would explode the island but thats all, The fire one just lits it a blaze and the Midas one turns it to gold
The character trails can do whatever as long as they don’t obstruct your vision in any way
The mounts should be easy enough to implement since they already have them in the hub
Yeah sorry about that I didn’t realise that was a rule

I’ve been in the speed builders community (from Mineplex) for a couple of years now, so I know a lot about the game itself.
How are you going to rate the builds difficulty? Some builds require good CPS, while other require decent memorisation or good aim. Lowering the time seems more logical to me, as the builds get harder in all of these aspects.
Custom islnads could be weird with the map theming. Or do you just want them to be in the void? That’s boring. What could be interesting is a custom unlockable indicator when you are finished with the build.
Looking forward to seeing how will it end up!

For the builds difficulty the build size and amount of blocks could vary from easy to hard and extreme. Easy difficulty coudk be a small 3x3 area or something similar to it and then extreme difficulty could be about the size of the building platform or one block to the edges for space. The custom islands i feel would be a pretty cool idea as some of them would match with some of the entire map location as the volcano island could match up with a nether looking map location and so on. Thanks for the appreciation love to see it and if you have any thought’s in how to change or twist it please tell me.
What if there is a volcano island on a snowy map for example? How would that look like?
Also, less blocks does not mean easier builds. You could have a 125 block build done faster than a 28 block one. For some players “easier” builds could be harder than “more difficult” ones, if they have bad aim but good CPS.
The Themes would be selected by the game before the round starts the customisables just make your island look cooler, It mightblook a bit strange but you can change it if you like nothing is stopping you
Difficulty could be done by having less time to build and memorise, I’d like to have the builds short enough on the block count.

Memo could be the aspect to have fun with. Again, to be interesting, build doesn’t have to have a lot of blocks. There are 4 block builds that are hard anyway.
I still don’t like “ranking” builds by difficulty, because the real difficulty is having less time. View time doesn’t matter when knowing all the builds. This is the kind of game that has to be updated frequently to be interesting.

I don’t want to sound rude or anything but I feel like your being a bit competitive yeah eventually you will learn all the builds and the themes buf that takes practice,
Obviously on the higher rounds some people won’t fully complete the build since the time limit would run out so would it be judged on percentage?

It has to. That’s the whole point of the game.
I’ve been into competitive speed building for over 2 years, hosting and taking part in multiple tournaments and seeing it more as a spectator sport.

Not everyone would be as good and competitive as you obviously so Hive would want to tone down the difficulty early rounds for the lesser skilled players, Players like you would survive until the later rounds and dominate lobbies so they could add a ranked mode
The creator of this suggestion said they would also have duos I believe so I wonder how that would play out

Duos could be fun… sometimes. Trying this with a friend in a VC was really fun. Coordinating is harder than you think on player side, I would think accepting only players in a party could be better, for sanity reasons
For ranked mode, someone actually asked me to do it on java. I actually don’t know how could it work.

I wouldn’t solo queue duos that seems like a bad idea but restricted players for nit being in a party is harsh, I agree with what your saying but I feel like its a bit unessasry.
If they had to do something about it they could split the building area in half and one players does one side.
I’m not sure about ranked mode, I was thinking having an extended mode for lesser skilled players and a quicker mode for higher skilled just like JB
