Reduce the maximum number of absorption hearts you can obtain from mining redstone from 5 to 2. 15 hearts (17 max with a gapple) is way too much health.

If by nerfing it you mean, making it a 1 in 3 chance of getting an extra heart, then maybe!
If they do this they have to keep pearls the same but change damage. Pearls basically take away the absorption so it’s basically a waist of redstone
I personally don’t feel redstone needs to be nerfed. There is usually 5+ at your spawn so everyone has the same advantage. If you get attacked at your base, then you have to move to get more redstone. I feel it is balanced as everyone has access to it, and it helps prevent camping because if you need more, you need to move. Just my opinion
Removing that would destroy the game. Everyone knows that its fun having alot of hearts. And if they do everyone will hate you(most)

I think we take things too many things for granted. I barely get golden apples from the chest. Redstone is basically another line of protection if you don’t have armor. This is also good in 4v1 or 3v1 situations. 4 people with sharpness 2 iron sword will obliterate your health. By the time you realize it you’re at 2 hearts and you’ve killed none of them. As sweaty as I am most times I have 5 extra hearts and I rush a full team usually I end up in someway retreating. If hive added a Sharp II Diamond Sword(9 damage) that’s 8 hits, which isn’t alot for win10 players or console(maybe mobile too). Enough talk, hope you get my point .
At least 6 people agree with me so not everyone. If the majority of people don’t like it and my thread doesn’t get more votes then that’s fine, hive should do whatever makes the majority of their players happy. I find it worrying that you think people will hate me for making a simple suggestion though, maybe those people have bigger problems to worry about.
My only problem is that 5 hearts is a bit too much. Makes redstone feel overpowered. 2 or even 3 would be better, since it would still incentivize players to move around and seek redstone to mine, without increasing their health by a whole 50%.
I only play solos so maybe they can keep 5 hearts for team games, but reduce it for solo games.
make it a chance to lose hearts (not kill u tho)

Just think about this…
No one has an advantage because everyone can get the 5 hearts from redstone. If they change it to 3 hearts then it’ll be the same thing because no one will be higher than 13 hearts (15 with gapple)
My problem wasn’t that it gives people an unfair advantage, I just don’t think we should be able to increase our health by 50%. It makes fights very long and forces people to always mine redstone if they want to have a fair fight, slowing down the game.
That’s how it is on the java server so I’d be happy with this as well.

I wouldn’t say an unfair advantage. I get your point tho. But until hive starts giving strength for each kill, it’s not gonna change.
sorry for goin to necro post or some sort. but you cant get 17 HP anymore. they removed it from the game.
also ill say, what if redstone ore caps at 3 so you can get 150% only with gapple but instead of giving 1 absorbtion heart, it gives half absorbtion and half Normal heart so its more to recover after a fight?
