I don’t see why this is necessary. The iron and chain are both fine, but diamond armour is too overpowered.

Nope, it actually is Mollybear and I. Saying Mollybear and me or me and Mollybear is incorrect 
But MolIybear and LightKnight5742 aren’t the subject of the sentence. They are the object, hence the use of the accusative, dative, or ablative form of the pronoun which is “me.” “I” is nominative which is the subject case.
“MolIybear and me” also sounds far more natural; I’m sure you will agree. Either way, I had no intent to cause an argument.
