Hey! What I think is that the timezone where all the hot drops drop should be linear when it drops in UTC time of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM where EU gets two chances while NA and AS only gets one so it wouldnt really be fair when EU gets the advantage of having two chances as I said it should be linear by adding another drop since theres 2 drops with 750 of them and 3 with 500 and that still equals the same amount.
The first drop can be for EU when its morning and AS when its evening for them where they get to participate during when NA players sleep and another drop where can NA and EU participate when its morning for NA and evening for EU during when AS sleeps and then the third drop where it gets even AS and NA gets a another chance where its morning for AS and evening for NA and EU sleeps and all of them can equal 1500 by only having 500 in stock each drop.
As I said it should be linear for the equal amount of participants and 10:00 AM for the first and the second 6:00 PM which is 8 hours difference and third 2:00 AM. If thats what you think it should or not thats fine.
If I am correct, you are seeing certain parts of the world as having an advantage with the hot drops by having more chances to participate. The thing is, thatâs not true. There are two drops of the Soulfire Crown so players everywhere have an equal chance at getting it. Yes, one of them might be at an inconvenient time for you, but it is fair.
There is a big difference between a time being âinconvenientâ and a system being fundamentally unfair.
Right now, European players can comfortably participate in both daily drops during their normal waking hours. Meanwhile, players in North America and Asia realistically only get one chance because the other drop happens in the middle of the night.
Because these items are limited-edition and sell out instantly, sleeping through a drop means 50% of the entire dayâs supply is permanently gone before those regions even wake up. The current system gives one continent double the opportunities of the others. That is why the 3-drop rotation proposal is necessary for actual fairness
Plus I did all of this mathematically and I want to make this even and should be fair to all the other regions.
Because its incredibly annoying when Europe gets 2 opportunities to get the drop while the North Americans and Asians get one. It needs to improve the system which is why im handing the idea out to hive. I know what it means to all the other regions and it should be reduced to 500 and 3 drops where 10:00 AM the first one then 6:00 PM and 2:00 AM. They are 8 hour difference and still equals to 1500 in total.
I still disagree. I donât live in Europe, and I still could reasonably participate in both. I just had to wake up a little bit earlier than usual. Also, nothings stopping you from just⌠waking up in the night to get the hat. Maybe not the best advise to mess up a sleep schedule, but still not that hard.
You literally admitted in your own post that ruining a sleep schedule is "not the best advice."If a game feature requires players to make unhealthy real-world choices just to have a baseline chance at a limited item, that is the exact definition of a poorly designed, unfair system.
Game drops should adapt to human life, not force kids and teenagers to set 3:00 AM alarms on a night. Just because you are personally willing to do that doesnât mean itâs reasonable, scalable, or fair to expect the entire global player base to do the same
In advance they should improve the hot drop system a bit more. Because usually when you see Europe having 2 opportunities while North America and Asia only gets one and that should be improved and proposing that it should have 3 drops instead of 2 depending how much stock is gonna be and should be even amount at 10:00 AM, 6:00 PM and 2:00 AM in UTC time. Which shows care for other regions and not everyone likes to get on at night to get the hat with personal reasons and I want to eliminate where players have to get on late at night.
This is a really good idea. Whether itâs your suggestion to add more hot drops or to change the times, I really like this. Iâve tried so many times but I canât. When I said, changes the times, I meant the time zones too. This is definitely getting voted.
Your situation is exactly why the current system fails. This is why I keep pushing for the 3-drop rotation it makes the schedule completely linear.
By shifting the drops to an exact 8-hour loop (10 AM, 6 PM, 2 AM UTC), every single region on earth gets exactly 2 daytime opportunities during normal waking hours. No one has to ruin their sleep schedule where some people just does it anyway. It creates perfect global balance without changing the total item scarcity at all
If you want to participate, then you can. Itâs not our problem if you didnât get the soulfire crown hat and it seems like you are just fustrated. Maybe itâs annoying to wake up earlier to try to get the hat but no one asks you to take it. And still, you CAN take it so you have the same percentage of change to get it.
Saying everyone has the âsame percentage of chanceâ completely ignores real world reality. European players get both drops at comfortable daytime hours (like midday and evening) while they are already awake and at their devices. Meanwhile, players in North America and Asia are forced to choose between physical health/sleep or logging on at 3:00 AM for a drop that sells out in seconds.
Adults have jobs, kids have school, and parents arenât letting teenagers set alarms in the middle of the night for a virtual hat. That isnât an equal opportunity; itâs a massive geographic disadvantage.
The entire point of the 3-drop suggestion is asking Hive to show actual care for their global community. Spacing drops 8 hours apart creates a healthy, player-first system where every single region gets an equal, waking chance to participate without being forced into unhealthy habits.
The fact that there are two drops shows that Hive is really trying to include as many people as possible. The system will never be fair, unless they just give the hat to everyone. It is just a fun extra cosmetic in a video game that is meant to be exclusive. Thatâs the point of making it mythic or whatever. I am sorry you didnât get it, but thousands of people also didnât get it. It doesnât matter that much.
Anyway, as I said, you had the SAME chance to get the hat. Itâs not my problem if you couldnât get it at 3 AM. Itâs just a virtual hat.
I also couldnât get it at 12 AM EU time because I was eating, and I couldnât get it at 8 PM because I wasnât home. So technically, I could say it was an incredibly unfair disadvantage for me too.
Just relax and accept that the percentage was the same. You got two drops of 750 hats just like EU players did. The time doesnât matter that much, especially since many NA and AS players got it.
If you really want it, you can still get it on the second drop. I understand itâs annoying to miss Hot Drops, but theyâre meant to be extremely rare, not fair. Maybe youâll get the next one, donât lose hope.
No parents would want a 15 year old up a 3:00 am just to get a stupid hat in Minecraft that cost 5$. The only good reason to be up at that time is if you need to do school and youâre behind. Most people will probably be awake in 2 of the 3 drops if Hive did it.
This is a location to win situation. While I wasnât busy I couldâve gotten the hot drop at 11:00 am if I felt like ot which might be unfair for other people mightâve had activies: summer school, at the pool, etc.
I appreciate your dedication to getting the item, but game design should focus on the global community rather than individual exceptions. While some players can choose to disrupt their sleep, a healthy system shouldnât require players especially teenagers and students to choose between a virtual cosmetic and proper rest. The goal of this proposal isnât to make the items common, but to ensure that the initial opportunity to try and get one is distributed humanely across all time zones.
It definitely isnât your individual problem, and Iâm glad the current system works well for you. But it is a platform problem for Hive if a large percentage of their global player base faces a massive geographic disadvantage. Suggesting a quality-of-life fix that benefits thousands of players without hurting your experience is exactly what the feedback forum is for
Another thing is that, I was the #59 player globally to get the Soulfire Crown, so Iâm not missing out at all. This isnât about me being upset over an item. Itâs about looking at the data objectively and realizing that just because a system worked out for me doesnât mean itâs fair or healthy for the rest of the global community."
