Cross-platform gaming should be optional

Cross-platform gaming should be optional.

The Hive’s current PBMM system allows cross-platform gaming when the amount of active players falls below 200. I think this should be optional. I personally don’t mind waiting in longer ques if it means I can play a more fair game. I don’t see why I can’t be given the option to choose my gaming experience instead of being forced to play at a disadvantage.

As of now, when someone plugs in a keyboard to their Xbox, Microsoft does not provide the Hive with that data and thus keyboard players may still be allowed to play with controller players. I understand there is only so much developers at Hive can do, but I want to know if this might change in the future and if the team as aspirations for making changes to PBMM.

Matchmaking might take significantly longer if they add this.

Cubecraft lets you turn PBMM on and off, so at least adding an “always on” option on Hive would be nice.

This topic seems like something @AnAbsurdName would like.

95% of mobile players and prob 70% of console players (a fair bit more than half of hive’s playerbase) would agree

They do have that information and is actually planned.

Splodger stated it as the closing message.

Thank you once again for your contributions, AbsurdName.

anyway as a switch player i prob wouldn’t use this due to the seemingly lacking amount of switch players on hive but i’ll vote anyway cause this could be useful for non switch players

switch players get queued with touch devices rn (they have a touch screen and hive is weird), you’d instead get queued with all other controller players (ps, xbox, mobile with controller (if ibmm gets added), etc) so there would be lots of people for u to play with.

They should have fixed that stated here: Cant queue with PS4 players when pbmm is activated - #4 by Splodg3r
So if you’re still seeing this issue, please report it.
