Hive said they removed TIMv (Trouble In Mineville as new Bedrock players wouldn’t have been able to understand the complexity of the game.
Today I’m suggesting to add back TIMV as a Murder Mistery sub-game.
Also to solve the problem explained above revamp it with:
New UI and objects
For sure improve everything that was in the game and maybe also the textures.
I can’t tell you what was in the game because I just heard of TIMv by videos. I didn’t even exist when it was playable I think…
Unlockables would be the same of normal Murder Mistery.
Game explained
What I mean exactly?
Everytime you get a role a screen (like in Sonic event) will appear and teach you how to play as your role.
In the hub there will be different screens avaible that explains you how the game works too.
To leave time to players for reading instructions, they’ll have a special object (compass?) that allows to queue in the game. Before you aren’t in queue but just “spectating”.
To avoid “hub rats” if you stay AFK more than a minute you will be kicked and sent to main hub.
Compared to all of our other (Java) gamemodes, TIMV was a complicated game with a lot of nuance, and a steep learning curve, and for newer players, it was often difficult to fully understand the game and its rules. This led to a lot of players - knowingly or unknowingly - breaking the rules by killing players randomly (we called this ‘random deathmatch’, or RDM).
The high amount of disruption caused by RDM (among other things) meant that TIMV took up a very disproportionate amount of staff time, both on the part of the moderators who had to spend countless hours enforcing the rules (when they could have been looking into more disruptive things, like cheating), and on the part of our developers, who had to spend a lot of time coming up with and implementing game mechanics to help to prevent it.
At its core, Murder Mystery is similar to TIMV in a lot of ways, but is lot easier to understand for newer players, and can’t be completely derailed by a few users randomly killing everyone in each game!
As you stated, the game was too complex for newer bedrock players, since children manly play this version. Plus, as Splodg3r mentioned, it consumed disproportionate amount of staff time of them having to spectate the games to make sure that nobody was trolling it.
TiMV had lots of technical problems and was soon replaced with Murder Mystery, a game that children would understand much better.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a suggestion. This idea has already been suggested, if you’d like to see it added, be sure to leave a vote on the original post:
