I’m not good at making forum posts so I’m just gonna be brief. I don’t really like the removal of the diamond chestplate from twars. I think a much better solution would be to increase the price of the full set to 30 emeralds. I can elaborate in the comments more if anyone would like.

Personally, I don’t feel like removing the chestplate was necessary. I think there are several other ways to balance the armor system without removing certain pieces of it. For example, reducing the price of iron armor. They actually did this in a recent preview, and it’s WAY better. It makes iron a viable option. Another thing they could’ve done is simply raise the diamond armor price to 30 emeralds. This would make it take WAY longer to obtain, thus decreasing the likelihood of someone getting it in the first few minutes.
Kinda ruins things, we need the chest plate, kind of ruins treasure wars without it.

The bottom line is, diamond armor is twice as good as iron armor. Therefore, lowering the price doesn’t balance it whatsoever. Because diamond armor is so broken, I don’t care how long it takes for people to get it. Raising price doesn’t balance the kind of OP diamond armor is

But… isn’t iron also twice as good as chain? Going by that logic we should remove the iron chestplate as well.

Ah, my bad! Sorry for the misinformation! Still, if diamond is twice as good as iron, then wouldn’t simply making diamond armor more expensive than iron solve this issue? It would take twice as long to obtain something twice as strong. That seems fair to me.

Buying diamond armor makes you unstoppable in melee. There shouldn’t be a price for being practically invincible

Still, there are ways to easily kill someone in diamond, and if someone is capable of defending themselves long enough to obtain 30 emeralds, they deserve that advantage.
not true, diamond swords can easily kill diamond armor even if the diamond sword person doesn’t have armor.
What are these ‘easy’ ways to kill diamond armor people? So you admit that diamond armor is unbalanced, but people ‘deserve it’. This a balancing update. Also, you still have 1.42x more armor than a full iron with the best armor available rn

Check your facts please. Diamond armor does 5x damage reduction. A diamond sword does 7 damage. That means each hit of the diamond sword does 1.4 damage to the full dia, meaning it takes 15 hits to kill the full dia. The full dia would kill you in 3 or 4 hits, depending on their sword. To add to this, you are killing the full dia so slowly, they regenerate during the fight so more like 16, or 17 hits
