Add a South American Region in Ecuador
NOTE: Before this post gets shut down due to the Hive not planning on making a new region, I just wanted to address the problem with ping that has hit me recently and is happening to others. And technically someone else suggested it, however this one is different and is more than just South America region. Also My last post here would help all the Mexican Minecraft players which is why this region isn’t for them(sorry)
Hello . So after I made a post about moving The NA Servers, I then thought about 1 continent that doesn’t have a region that should have a region, and voila, I present to you… South/Central America Region !
Answering a few questions you might have(predicting your future questions??):
Q: Where is this Region’s Servers?
A: Sorta Obvious, I mean it’s in the TITLE(I’m not getting copyrighted by Blobert.). It would be in Ecuador
Q; Why Ecuador Though?
A: It’s A country between Mexico and Brazil. I think it’s a good place tbh. Also you can suggest a different country. This(as far as I know) is NOT final.
Q: How much ping would you get?

Q:How beneficial would it be?
A: Well, with Central Americans now having another option than America region, and just another region to a whole nother number of people and just better fps… So ye. That’s kinda it.

Columbia… is not a good idea. For a lot of reasons. Just look up the country and see its issues. Perhaps an island nation would be better, as they are a lot more… stable.
Maybe in Puerto Rico or Aruba would be a good spot? idk
and, the Quechua people live in Peru and Chile, and some parts of Ecuador/Columbia.
I think it’s not a good idea. A while ago a hurricane hit PR and left much of its territory without electricity. It is a very vulnerable area. Aruba is very small if I’m not mistaken. It is an island as vulnerable as PR. Wouldn’t you like Belize? It’s not that unstable, I think. And they have the advantage of speaking English, which would help programmers. And your geographical area… well, it could work (or not, xd)
Both are(geographically’ not good ideas for Central America purposes, and would be good if this region was only for Southern Americans, but this is also for Central America. Belize is better for Central America, but Ecuador is more suited for North America. How bout…no not Venezuela. I also forgot about the Bahamas.

Edit! Puerto Rico would be too far for many southern Americans to get a decent connection. Maybe Ecuador. Prolly Ecuador. Ye I’m changing to Ecuador. Wait now my calculations resetting…
How much money does it cost to maintain a region, and how much effort is required in labor?
You would need to attract Latin American players to the forums. Most NA players are already comfortable so they wouldn’t vote. But to the south things change.

Now here’s the problem.
None of my friends are from south america(as far as Ik). I guess this cause none of the regions will give them a suitable experience. So idk how this would work. And idk how much it costs to maintain a region.
Well, let me tell you something here between us: If the owners of The Hive paid in dollars, some people from Latin America would agree to work for that region in exchange for a few dollars (depending on work time, of course). Why? Because in Mexico and further down, the dollar has enough value According to the current exchange rate, the dollar is generally worth 20 Mexican pesos, for example. It is somewhat tempting to work as a helper for a few dollars. Another thing is to ensure that there are items in the store that are of interest to Latin American people. For example, a stuffed animal with a taco with a hat sells in Mexico, or a Colombian hat, or a skin in representative colors of each country. Those types of items are not sold in NA, but because of the culture of LATAM, those items would sell. Enough money would come from these sales to maintain the SA (South America) server. As a businessman once said: “People don’t buy for logical reasons, they buy for emotional reasons” Sorry for my long speech.

It would be necessary to find out how many work in a single region, how much they are paid and for how many hours they work. I guess most of the work is making the computers automated. So workers do not have to work many hours or many days. Or someone tell me if I’m wrong.
I was thinking about Trinidad and Tobago, two islands off the coast of Venezuela that function as one country. Many people there speak English, and they’re a very stable country due to… like, all island nations being stable. What is their secret?!

Anyway I was thinking Ecuador would be an ideal spot but if we can’t go there then we could just build it in northwest Brazil. If we could accomplish the necessary electrical requirements up there even though its mostly the Amazon XD.

Not getting too much into history, Ecuador would be a good place just cause it’s a good place in the middle. I thought of Costa Rica and Panama, but both places aren’t the best places(I think).
