Let’s go over the situation again:
The player count in the game is low, queue dodgers are increasing wait times, XP requirement per level is too high, and XP rewards per round is too low.
I have a few suggestions to fix this.
Option 1: Keep the level cap at 20 and increase XP rewards. Good for new players, but unfair to those who spent hours grinding to max the game.
Option 2: Increase the level cap to 30, but don’t increase XP rewards. Rework the required XP per level up to level 20, and smooth out the aggressive increases. This would make progression more balanced, but players will see their levels decrease slightly.
Option 3: Increase the level cap to 30, keep the total required XP up to level 20 the same. Add new levels with less aggressive XP scaling, and increase XP rewards per round. This balances the game better.
Option 3 makes the most sense. If the game raises the level cap to 30, adjusts XP scaling and rewards properly, and adds meaningful rewards for the new levels (a Golden Crown hat at level 30, cool hub titles and avatars), it would bring back players who already finished the game and re-motivate those who lost interest.
Also, introducing new kits (potions, totems, spell books, different weapons) and cosmetics (level-based goal sounds, kill effects) would take the experience to the next level. I believe this could significantly boost the player count.
There’s one more option: Leave the game as is and let it die, since it’s pretty repetitive and dull in its current state.
