Why I think Parkour worlds should be Nerfed slightly

I feel like the progression in parkour worlds could be better, as it personally felt for me like the difficulty (in geometry dash difficulties) goes from easy, normal, hard, demon. In the world volcano, the jumps were very precise and almost downright impossible (for mobile players like me) I understand that some people want hard parkour, (like me) but a way to make it a better experience for everyone would be to slightly nerf some of the tricky jumps. This might cause some controversy, especially from people who have already beaten these levels but I think this is a well needed change as there is (currently) no reward for beating the parkours, so there is no motivation to do so when you could be playing a nice casual game instead of struggling to do a jump, landing it and missing the next jump, because there are no checkpoints. This game was announced right after mojang absolutely destroyed mobile controls making it so you stop moving mid-jump and fall into some lava, with it not being your fault. Sorry for kinda complaining this entire time, but if want to reply, please use constructive criticism or be supportive of the topic. :translations:

Edit : when I said “slightly nerf some of the tricky jumps” I meant make some jumps a little bit easier but keep about two thirds the same. Hope this clarifies some stuff.

I don’t think it’s fair to nerf the entire game-mode just to tend to one platform. Only do as many courses as you can, not everyone will be able to beat them straight away and that’s okay. The game was only released five hours ago also lol.

In my opinion, as much as the level curve did look like this:

I thought it was kinda fun how it just cut off half the players at dragon’s dare (and the like magma one can’t remember the name)
But I do think some jumps should be a little easyer, every checkpoint had at least 3 people stuck lol

I am a mobile player and I disagree with what you say. People want a challenge, so this gives us that. I honestly found dragons dare to be the most enjoyable even though most found it to be annoying. If you have a problem with the difficulty then maybe stick to the other maps!

I agree as many people were spending way too long on one section (like 10-15 minutes!) than the section should take. I even saw you in chat talking about the game when I first played it.

I see your point of view on this, but the level of annoyance is too high for me to actually enjoy the game, as I miss when hive was about simple mini games where you just try to break others treasures and avoid traps in deathrun. The other levels are extremely easy, thus not providing a challenging or replayability. You might also be more used to the newer controls, as they only just turned the og controls into an abomination, but I have played for many years with them and they now don’t control (for me) in a way that is useful to parkour. Welcome to the hive forums  :+1:

I don’t mean nerfing the whole gamemode, I mean making certain jumps just slightly easier, but not noticeable enough to make each of the courses free. This could also help players on other platforms like console. The hive could look at where the most deaths are on certain levels and figure out what needs to be nerfed and what can stay a hard jump. When nerfing a jump, I would expect a slab to be placed instead of a block, or something to make the jump more do-able and not need people to explain you need to jump on to a tight corner.

I’m mobile and Dragon’s Dare was by far my favorite map, it’s not a device issue at all. If you’re struggling with completing the jumps just remember you have infinite tries; you got this! (except for that one bit with the custom blocks that look smaller than normal blocks, that part really annoyed me)

also, noone’s forcing you to do it if you don’t want to.

Actually, I have been playing this game for about 7 years. I am never switching to the new controls because I am way too used to the old controls (dpad and split). Currently, not trying to advertise, I am creating a video of a tutorial for Dragon’s Dare. Also, you don’t have to complete it, so I don’t see why Hive would have to nerf this. We can agree to disagree, but this is where I stand. Also, thank you for welcoming me

Now, by no means am I the best parkourist, but imo being on world 4 is super hard. A lot of the jumps are mechanic and momentum based, and the lava might be a part of that(the fog) but I do think they need to nerf it just a bit so that isn’t so momentum/mechanic based. Dragon’s dare takes forever. I think I can finish it, but the other problem is how long the levels are. I think they need to make it shorter.

I am the same on the controls, but I wish they were what they used to be. I meant this suggestion as more of something that hive could think about for future courses (but also possibly the present ones) as they will get replaced eventually. Thank you for taking time to make a tutorial on dragon’s dare as I can definitely see it being useful for many people. I myself have already completed it, (after 93 minutes…) but I will definitely watch it so I can improve my understanding and skills in parkour. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

You just have to get momentum for each jump you do. Or you just don’t compete it…

that basically sums up the whole volcano world lol

A lot of these comments have already said it perfectly, but I’m just going to quote my reply to a different topic to share my wording of it.

I’ll also reply to a few parts of this post.

Parkour maps (especially harder ones) are meant to take a while to complete. You’re not supposed to be able to complete them in 1 or 2 minutes. It’s supposed to be a challenge, and like I said in my quote above, you might be expecting it to be too easy.

Even shorting the length of a jump by 1 or 2 blocks will make it noticeable.

That’s may as well be even more noticeable, and make it too easy.

Oh yes, and by the way, if you struggle with mobile controls, try using a bluetooth controller and connecting it to your mobile device. It will make parkour and everything else much easier, but may take a bit to get used to.

I would agree to this statement because no matter I tried to finish it, it’s impossible to get there and idk if I would think that they need to fix the system in order to be fair and if this goes on without fixing it, that would lead to Chaos and Rage Circumstances. No offense but that last parkour map needed to be check and tested again, to ensure on continue to play on the server.

It is very controversion.
But I’m with @JiMSUEE’s Side.

They should leave the courses as it is now- like there are different courses according to your level of parkour.

Yes, that is some of the frustration I have with that part of the update, as I feel hive needs to play test their maps better. I spent many hours attempting the volcano maps (specifically dragons dare) only to take a break due to being so annoyed with the maps. Welcome to the Hive forums as well
