Why andesite for blocks?

Andesite is a very ugly block and it ruined the the Polish and colorful look of hive SkyWars. Terracotta is a better looking block and I suggest hive to put it back. Maybe add wools too.Andesite_JE3_BE2

I thought it was concrete before?
If I had to guess, the andesite is a placeholder since they’re very much still tweaking this and that in the game. Or at least I hope so.
I was confused by andesite too but I’m in the anti-granite gang so I don’t personally find andesite ugly.

I mean, I’m not all that upset about them picking Andesite. Like, it may not be the most aesthetic block, but at the end of the day, all these blocks are good for is bridging.

Still, it looks ugly.

Just use a texture pack if your eyes are hurt by these kind of stone.

I don’t think this is needed and I Hive should be working on more important updates for skywars other than ones like these.

I have wondered this too, i have some thoughts in why they went for this block

I think the default block should be grey concrete blocks, it just looks nicer

maybe polished andesite could be a good alternative since it looks much smoother or maybe blocks like the various plank blocks like oak or birch planks can be used instead of andesite

At least someone with the feeling.

I like andesite because it fits better with like the ground blocks
Grass,
That white block thing
Etc
.
I don’t think it’s ugly
Lol

I mean there’s also the crumbling “cobblestone” and basically every block on the islands. It’s a tedious job, but it works.

I think andesite is a perfect block. The reason for this is it’s not a block that everyone expects, yet there all also people who don’t admire the block. And that’s okay. But everything has a reason for happening. If you go to the minecraft wiki, you can see the blast resistance and stuff of blocks. And if you think about it, think about a block that is better. Lets think of cobblestone. That is to generic. Lets think about diorite, that block kind of blends in with the background of some maps. Especially if it’s dark. Lets think about wool. That has a small blast resistance, therefore it would probably break while you use a boom box. Lets think about obsidian, that could be exploited and used to go to the nether. Lets think about dirt. Just why? You see, it may have not been the most well thought out block; but it works and it does’t slow down the game-play. A change in the block could be a double-edged sword.

It’s dead coral I think lol
