Now this could be called a rant For The Hive Staff But All I’m Saying is constructive criticism and It’s fine If They Archive This idea or suspend me I Don’t Care But I wanna Try To make at least a change
one Last Time.
2022 For The Hive was Interesting to say the least In the First Half of the year we got some Qol Features and Pets until The arcade was announced On May 3rd 2022 which made The Community have a lot of Hype. So on June 3rd 2022 we got he Arcade but then this is when I slowly Started hating the Hive. After we got Mounts which seem cool but they were 10$ which was pretty expensive for a cosmetic that only works in the Hub and the arcade Hub. Then on October 31st we got Hats that are more cosmetics that were cool but sucked at the same time It was stupid that it had a rarity system and what made it rare was more Minecoins.
[all I’m trying to say Hive is that we don’t need more cosmetics we don’t need more quality put into updates all we need is you to listen to the community like you guys used to] Bye.
Pets and Mounts (ridable pets) were added to The Hive’s public roadmap back in September 2019, it was just a matter of time on when they would release. They don’t even release that many pets and mounts to be fair, it is not like they make one every week or so.
Sure, mounts are expensive, but they are considered a ‘fly rank’ that makes you reach every location in hub, not to mention you do not have to purchase it, if you do not like it, as it is pretty much an extra on top of the free content The Hive releases.
Most games use a rarity system for their cosmetics and I think there is no reason to complain about The Hive’s, as even the current most expensive rarity, which is epic, is just 490 Minecoins (about $3). This way, players can also purchase less expensive hats if they want to have a hat but currently don’t have enough minecoins to effort a rare or epic one. Hats currently don’t work in games, but when they do in the future, $3 and less is a reasonable price in my opinion.
I do not think that they have plans to add many more cosmetics any time soon, because, as mentioned before, pets and mounts were already announced in 2019.
What exactly do you mean with “We Don’t need more quality”? Quality updates is what most players like about The Hive as they put effort into making content and game updates for us. Going another way here would not make sense for The Hive at all.
By more quality he means that they should basically be more like CubeCraft, where there’s frequent updates which are at an okay quality instead what Hive does; good updates that each take about 2-3 years
Ye, I’ve heard that hive is trying to put even more quality into games but……… there has not been a quality problem with past games, and more quality just means it takes longer
So I kinda agree with what they saying with that
What They Mean By quality now Is Putting There focus on The Ui instead of Gameplay For example The Bridge Had so many problems and Glitch’s So That’s What I Mean about no more quality
So u mean qol (quality of life) updates such as ui changes should stop because imo I like that hive is doing these as they make hive a lot smoother and put hive ahead of the other servers
So many cosmetics to make money, but a few updates. Maps and levels aren’t really updates. MM update was good, but thats about all besides the release of the arcade. Custom blocks are cool and all, but no one really wanted them.
For not wanting much limited time stuff this year they kinda did a lot of it. Souls in mm, a 25 day pirate event, 4 micro games for Winterfest, a pirate build competition, and an art competition.
I also hate of how the announced Blockparty so long ago, and it’s yet to see the light of day. I know technically they never said it was coming soon when announcing it, but they made it seem like it was.
I for one think the Hive/Staff is doing a perfectly fine job releasing content that keeps the server interesting. I am an intermittent player… I’ll play for a few months, take a few months break, and then cone back. However, I feel as if everytime i do something new is added.
I know its been a while, but they have added several games within the past year or so. And the cosmetics have brought more life to the hub.
What I am trying to say is, if you take a step back and look at all they’ve accomplished over the past several years, the Hive is still very much a thriving server with lots of new content.
Oh so you wan’t quantity over quality that’s weird. So you just wan’t Hive to make a lot of Micro Transactions and make gameplay the worst it could be? That’s what quantity over quality is. Of course quantity doesn’t mean what I’m saying but I’m just trying to give you a reference of what you just said. So you basically just wan’t hive to break down. And also, if you were running a server with over 10 thousand players a day you probably wouldn’t always listen to what the community says. Of course Hive tries their best but since their community and fanbase is so big its just hard to listen. This isn’t pixel paradise which only gets like what, 600 players or something?
Have you seen the global locker? They need some kind of ui update, maybe adding folders to it. Also Hive’s quality is the main reason I play on the server. I am pretty sure at least a few players would leave if they started adding unfinished, buggy games. (Like the original block drop.) I, personally, just want the Hive’s best work and if it takes a while, so what? Block party is coming out soon and the teaser image looks amazing. Plus they had so many updates this year: lunar new year, pirate event, arcade update, Halloween event, and the Christmas event. Hive did a lot of work in 2022, adding 2 new game modes, adding 3 returning game modes (two of which are now permanent), making ltm quests for the hub, making a second hub with a lot of detail and a working monorail (and 3 new hub games), and adding 4 micro games for Christmas. If you count that out it is technically 12 games in the span of 12 months. There was also a mm update, which also was really good. They were also putting time into developing block party, even though it didn’t release in 2022. What I’m trying to say is, Hive has been giving us quantity, but it is of the highest quality also. If they were to rush their games, we would end up with the aforementioned original block drop.
Instead of making a new reply I’m just gonna add on to this one. The cosmetics are completely optional. You don’t have to buy them, and they still are working on the games. The models should be the easiest thing to make, but I could be wrong. Also, I’m surprised you didn’t complain about the quest master costumes, since they are also cosmetics that are released regularly. If Hive wants to actually make a profit on their server, into which they put so much effort, then why not? I will admit I don’t like that you can just fly anywhere with mounts, since the Hive sign used to be a rare thing to get on top of, but it also means staff isn’t constantly being bugged about teleporting players to the sign. This means they can actually do their jobs and I don’t see how that could be a bad thing. Cosmetics are the things that keep the Hive making money and therefore existing. They have employees who they have to pay, and they also are human and need basic human necessities, such as food. This is a really long reply and a bit of a rant, but I hope it is constructive enough.
Edit edit: This is just my opinion, it does not invalidate yours.
Closing this as it’s more of a rant than an actual suggestion.

I keep seeing comments regarding the cosmetics that we’ve started to sell within the last 12 months and I just want to clear something up: you may see these cosmetics as something that are there purely to make money, which to some degree is true, but it’s important to understand why they are necessary.
⠀
Running a Minecraft server as big as The Hive isn’t cheap. To be blunt, if we didn’t sell cosmetics, we would not be able to continue operating.
⠀
The money raised through store purchases goes directly back into the server, allowing us to hire more staff, and importantly, developers (we’ve hired two new developers fairly recently). We’ve taken steps to improve our workflow within recent months, and this is thanks (in part) to our new developers.
⠀
Block Party is coming very soon, and we have lots of other updates on the horizon, there’s a lot to look forward to this year!
