I think it’s safe to say that a lot of The Hive’s treasure wars maps are subpar at best. Around a year ago myself and my friend LeoTheSkyGuy built a map called “The Pyramidian” for Treasure Wars solos. It was very well received, but sadly it was never added to the server despite people wanting it. The intention was to prove that Hive is fairly incompetent when it comes to map design and even inexperienced bozos like myself and Leo could make a good map (we made it in roughly 12 hours)
Out of spite, we created another map for Treasure Wars Duos. The intention for this was to take an impossible theme and turn it into something both fantastic to look at and enjoyable to play!
This is the outside of the middle island, we wanted to create a sort of “grocery store” build. And I think we did a pretty good job of conveying that with mid.
The interior of mid was VERY difficult to design. We somehow had to make it look like a grocery store but also function as a way for players to retrieve emeralds as well as PvP. This alone took us many hours of brainstorming, but eventually we just started building and let the interior take shape!
I’m not super proud of diamond island. The idea was that it’d be a shopping basket with things inside of it, and you have to get to the bottom of the basket to collect diamonds. It’s not the most beautiful looking thing in the world, and I think a professional would do a much better job here.
And finally, my FAVOURITE part by far, the starting islands! I love all the different colours and how detailed the shopping carts are. It really makes the map pop to life, and you can notice the different items in the shopping cart and how they connect together to make a reliable starting base!
Unfortunately, as said above the Hive cannot accept community maps since they actually need to own the license of every map that they use, which is something difficult to do on Bedrock. It’s much safer and easier to use the maps created by the Hive’s build team. The Hive has a dedicated team of builders who make all the maps that you see on The Hive server. If they ever decide to accept or use community maps in the future they’ll let everyone know about it but currently, this isn’t something they are considering doing. c:
This looks good, but to be honest the regular maps are fine, and it’s understandable why the hive cannot add your map so the fact that you made one out of spite feels useless. Cool build none the less!
Bump i know hive has never accepted a community map before but maybe this can be the first. As I said when i gave one about punctuation, this build is amazing
This is an amazing concept, and I agree with Captbossalf, this could be the first! Im happy to let you know that you’ve inspired me, and I will be making my own maps too.
