Despite the previous changes and nerfs to the bows and arrows in Treasure Wars, they are still far too overpowered and easy to abuse.
To start off with, bows themselves are cheap and can easily be bought very early in the game. Bows are a very powerful item in Treasure Wars and as of right now they can be bought at little to no expense of a team’s resources since they only cost 2 diamonds.
Bow use at the start of the game is very easily abused since bows end up doing about the same damage as a diamond sword while being long range weapons, which makes them extremely good items (since long range weapons would usually tend to do less damage).
The problem here is that one of the most powerful weapons in the game is far too inexpensive and easy to acquire.
To balance this out, I suggest changing the price of a bow to 5 emeralds (but I would be open to other suggestions as well). This would help level the playing field early game and also make sense with the amount of damage a charged bow shot does, which is equivalent to that of a diamond sword.
In addition, the system used in Survival Games to prevent “spamming” bows at short range should be implemented into Treasure Wars.
These changes to bows are much needed and will certainly even out the game mode, making it a lot more enjoyable and fair for everyone who plays it.
Great idea! The fact that bow deals as much damage as a diamond sword yet is both cheaper and more versatile in usage completely baffled me. Bow damage needs a MAJOR MAJOR major major nerf.
You don’t realize that the player that made this topic plays in competitive scrims. Using a bow to hold mid control is super overpowered, which in result will give the bow users diamond armor.
How do you reckon using armor and getting a bow remedy this problem? Perhaps my comment was not clearly legible and explained enough, and for that I sincerely apologize.
Anyhow, the idea suggested at hand deals with the major damage bowing deals, especially in treasure war. Dealing 3 hearts of damage per bow shot kills a chain armor in three hits, essentially on par with that of a diamond sword.
It is clearly mentioned in the post that bow is ridiculously cheap, yet its usage could arguably far exceed to that of an item that cost more (strategy-wise of course, for item cost is decided based of playing style and strategy). Your comment seems to AGREE with the author’s point in that you suggest retaliating bowing as oppose to using any other items in the game.
Ultimately, it seems like your comment stems from hatred of people from this community, as indicated by your pretentious and incredibly hateful remarks per your profile status. I suggest you delete your comment and hopefully provide some positive, constructive feedback in the future.
No one here is complaining. even with armor, the bow still deals lots of damage and constant volleys of arrow doesn’t help the case… but since this isn’t about bow spamming, we’re not getting there. Using a bow to “counter” bow user isn’t going to get rid of the fact that the bow deals a bit too much damage, because now you are going to be the one who is going to be constantly shooting at them and they would have the same reaction/thoughts on the bow
I would like to have an opportunity to offer the reasoning behind why I think bow is broken. However, I notice that you are an incredibly famous Hive player, arguably one of the best pvper in the Hive community, which is why I am at a humble request–like a horse waiting for its master, I might say–for you to kindly explain your reasoning and perhaps elaborate a bit on your idea.
If you do kindly spend the time of your day to educate us on the easy ways to counter bows, we would forever be in your deeds, kind sir.
Thank you very much and I look forward to your reply!
Bows can be very difficult to counter especially when they are used in mass against someone (This post was made with more competitive matchups in mind), but regardless of how “easy” it is, they do an enormous amount of damage for being so cheap. I would like to keep this thread based on actual facts instead of going into skill levels and what is “easy” for certain players.
I have never heard of this guy in my life. The issue that brought this up was by my server (The Hoard) where I hosted the most competitive treasure wars tournament/Clan v Clan where the finals were just a bow battle and there was no sword fighting what so ever.
Easier said then done, but again I’m mostly talking about the numbers; bows being so cheap yet so powerful breaks the system in a way and that’s what I want to keep this thread focused on.
