The Hive Forums occasionally receive suggestions from languages other than english, and it is up to the users to head to a translation site, to read messages.
So, there should be a Translate
button.
Why?
A translate button would be a quick and convenient way to help players communicate more.
If users dont have to translate their posts all the time, they will likely comment on posts with different languages more.
Where?
The button could be revealed when the player hits the three dots icon, under every post.
How?
Your first thought may be that this simply isnβt possible.
However, this post should not be immediately disregarded.
While I really donβt know, perhaps plugins could be used to add this feature to the forums.
I mean Hive uses Discourse for their forums so maybe they could use a translator plugin to implement in their forums (if that is possible for hive to do and if discourse has that feature)
Yes, but if it this feature is added please do not use the translate button unless you need it. Translations require a small amount of money every time, which is probably why this isnβt added yet.
So, if they do add it, we want to minimise the usage of it, or they may want to remove it because of the costs.
What Iβm saying is that DancerMKA1215 should not just post in latin, as that would force everyone to use the feature on each of their posts, thus costing The Hive more money.
Donβt get me wrong I do not want Hive to limit this feature (because people who donβt speak english would barely be able to participate in the forums) but, we could only use the feature when needed, so that it can be better for every party.
