The hive is currently full of closet cheaters. It might not be that obvious, but at least one player I’m every second game of bedwars or skywars is using some sorts of cheats. 3.2 blocks of reach or small velocity are extremely common. Closet cheaters were one of the reasons I quit Hive a few months ago. I tried it again, but it’s almost impossible to win against these cheaters.
I’m a very competitive player myself (I know how to hitselect, jump reset, time hits, …) and I notice most cheats.
The problem is that these players do not get banned. My suggestion would be to add a proper velocity and 3.1 block reach check to the anti cheat which staff alert. This has been done before on bedrock and would improve the situation a lot. Hive just isn’t fun anymore.
Blatant cheating is even more common. In every second game of skywars is a blatant cheater. They last around 30 minutes and then create a new account and continue cheating. I’d suggest to add a trust factor system to the anti cheat. This could be level or playtime based. (afk time doesn’t count)
Players below level 10 in skywars with a playtime lower than 30 minutes have much stricter checks. Players with a higher level have less strict checks. Even if they decided to start cheating they would be banned after some time and their account is gone. This would also improve the rate of false positives.
Keep in mind that I don’t know if any of this stuff has already been implemented. Hive keeps information about their anti cheat hidden.
