talking about the iron armor price
I donāt see how 16 diamonds is worse than 28 gold, as gold is a resource you can get in higher quantities early on in the game, and diamonds take a bit longer to stack up until you max out your generator.
I like this suggestion a lot. One addition I would want to make would be to also remove the chestplate or boots and replace them with leather.
Also I recently made a post very similar to this one because I didnāt realize you already posted this; I donāt know how I missed it. Thatās my bad, sorry.
I think he saw you write, āI would be okay with having it cost 16 iron. For Iron Armor.ā And he assumed that you meant that the iron would cost 16 iron because you wrote, āFor Iron Armorā right after it. I guess he didnāt notice the period, lol.
Letās be honest, most illegal teamers (if thatās what weāre talking about) are complete noobs and are easy to bow, fireball, or just combo to death. And how is this relevant to the topic of armor?
You say this, and I get it, but whatās the point of diamond being in the game for this scenario? Diamond is just as easy to get for them as you, and it ends up being a mess when youāre trying to 1v2 or 1v4 for a bed when everyone is in diamond.
I think this got a little off-topic, especially with talking about pearl-clutching a dory and dory mechanics in general (??). I agree with every post by @LightKnight5742, however I would change that just the helmet is removed. Either the helmet and boots, or the helmet and chest-plate should be remove and replaced with a leather helmet that canāt be upgraded.
This is a little messed up; if you agree and want to see the armour system changed, you should definitely vote for this post; to take away youāre vote because the person who posted was just discussing your ideas with no mean language at all, is just messed up and makes no sense at all. @LightKnight5742 is listening to your suggestion and simply helping discuss with you the best solution. Why would you take your vote back because of that?
While that may be true, if they are at a place where it is hard to do that (one of their bases) and they realize they can also get rich, it becomes much harder since two people doing something is better than one. Another example is middle, where teamers can guard and you cannot get dories. Also the point in that message was since most teamers forget to buy diamond armor, it gives the person who does a better chance in straight PVP if they cannot afford the fireballs and wind charges and dories and exc
I understand what youāre saying, and sympathise, but disagree. I think that if anything, the teamers are more likely to have every good item in the game. They are able to camp base and go middle at the same time; allowing them to protect their beds and camp team generators while the other gets diamonds and emeralds. It doesnāt help that most teamers are side-rushes, meaning they can easily get valuable resources during the time everyone else is trying to get their side-rush out. I also donāt think that diamond armour should be in the game just for people who illegally team. People who team are only in one out of fifty or so games, and when they do appear they probably get banned.
I donāt know how good you are, but I never buy diamond armour and donāt struggle with killing teamers, because they are usually really bad.
Teamers are an unintended part of bedwars, which Hive bans, so to make it possible to get diamond, in spite of all the cons of diamond, just for teamers, is strange.
Chasing diamond runners who have pearls and gapples is painful and should not be a feature in this game.
I respect the thoughts, this is a very interesting discussion we are having; Iām really enjoying this.
Good idea but I think iron armor should still cost gold. We are losing items that cost gold since the turret and now I never use gold expect for iron armor.
This SHOULD Be Added right now. The Diamond Armor Campers are very annoying. Also the YouTubers has the same opinion.
I spend my gold on wood, gapples, and arrows, which requires more gold than I get most games; I donāt think having too much gold and too little to buy with it is a problem at all.
This is something that really needs to be implemented in Bedwars, Iām tired of diamond players camping.
As for the helmet, I think that in addition to it, the boots should also be replaced with a leather version and these items should be made in the color of your team. Although I do not agree with the fact that you need to pay for leather items, I think they should be made permanent and cannot be removed. Firstly, they have a low level of protection, and an enemy can easily be defeated with bare hands in a leather helmet and boots. Secondly, your idea goes well with mine. Thirdly, the slots in the inventory will not be clogged when buying another set of armor and will only take up two slots. And finally, we will get team differences in armor color.
I havenāt read this discussion in a bit; who said anything about paying for the leather? I think that you should spawn in with the leather, and it would be in the team colour. I do not think it should be upgradable in any way, as you said.
This truly doesnāt matter to anyone. It takes only four button presses to remove the first set of armour.
Official in the post
In any case, this is a plus and you wonāt have to make extra clicks XD
I also think that leather helmet and boots are not worth paying for. They may be permanent, but they will provide only a little protection and will become a distinctive feature for each team.
I donāt think leather should cost anything.
Why did you do the work of translating my post to Russian when you couldāve just copy and pasted it in English? Making me do extra work sigh xD
In my opinion, I think the armor is fine how it is because youāre saying how diamond armor is too easy for your opponents to get, but that means itās just as easy for you to get.
Just because it is equally easy to get doesnāt mean anything. I personally prefer the strategy of going directly from base to base and killing everyone I can and just not going middle. I do this because itās more fun and effective, since I prefer actual pvp to collecting resources. But when the last guy has diamond it ruins this for me.
Even if both my opponents and I have diamond, that still isnāt fun because of how long it takes to kill each other and how easy it is to just run, and chasing a guy in diamond who has golden apples, bow, and ender pearls is not anyoneās idea of fun. Or if one is going for a team of four finals, and going in to attempt to sacrifice oneself for one of the finals, it is significantly easier when the team is in iron, chain, or no armour, due to the point that diamond gives the other players more time to realise there is an attacker there.
It is excruciatingly painful when thereās a team in squads which has, for whatever reason, been freed from their first rush ridiculously early, and has established control of middle, and is farming emeralds, and it already has maximum generator and full diamond for every player, while your team is still taking out their first rush and is more resource deprived; I am, however, a solos player, so I donāt care as much about this, but I think I speak on behalf of anyone who either solo queues squads or doesnāt have a good party. I have friends that solo queue squads all the time and experience this.
I like it how it is
Iām sorry, the Hiveās player base may have more experienced players, but come on, there are still younger kids playing. And the helmet isnāt an amazing idea, but some team color coding would be nice. 8 emeralds and 16 diamonds maybe, but honestly, maybe itās best to just leave it.
Iām sorry, but this is a horrible excuse for having an armor system as poorly thought out as this one. You can have a well-thought out armor system that doesnāt make late game fights long and tedious and cater towards a younger demographic.
And to be honest, thinking about it more, Season 1 had a problem with being too campy to begin with, and a lot of what Season 2 did (Strike it Lucky upgrade, and the potion table being at home base come to mind) are only making it worse in that regard. Itās all about finding the right balance between having a game that is more welcoming towards newer players and making sure that weāre not sacrificing game design, and I believe the ladder is what Hive is starting to do right now.
