The weapons feel too weak and the armor too strong, making each battle take excessively long. Right now, the gameplay has shifted to knocking opponents off ledges instead of defeating them directly. I feel that either weakening the armor or strengthening the weapons would be necessary to improve the balance.
absolutely not, long fights are the absolute best part of skywars as consistancy > a single lucky hit. Also, with less armor projectiles would be even better and they’re quite good enough already
I understand that my perspective might be influenced by my experience transitioning from Hypixel, but I feel that the game currently lacks meaningful differences in player skill. Battles have devolved into just a matter of who has stronger weapons or armor. The unbalanced setup creates battles that feel more like a long-winded Sumo PvP match when both players have powerful armor and weapons. The Hive’s relatively low knockback effect further reinforces this issue.
As a suggestion, I believe it would be beneficial to adjust the items found in chests and those dropped from mining diamond ores. There should be ways to prevent every player from achieving full diamond armor—for instance, making the Diamond Chestplate available only from the rarest chest at mid
Skywars is one of the few consistent high-armor games, which allows projectiles to be balanced and redstone to be a strong option even in sweaty games mid fight. I personally love the long sw fights as it lets me adapt to my opponent’s playstyle and outsmart them as well as giving use to many fringe strats/items, something that just isn’t as possible in low-armor games where a single extra hit usually decides an entire fight. If you want lower-armor skywars try skywars classic or survival games, and if you also want respawns I’d recommend ctf,
Even with 15 hearts and full diamond armor I find fights to be reasonably short and exhilarating the whole way through.
I completely disagree, i love the longer fight as they feel way more strategy based. In games where every hit does 1.5-3 hearts the fights are very quick, and very often someone can be killed while in a chest or their inventory because killing them only takes 4 hits, which leads to a quicker, more annoying game rather than an engaging fight where you have to adapt to your opponent and use strategy
Tbh as a Skywars main the long fights are what make Skywars Skywars without the long fight that lead to great improvement in skill and fun, the projectiles and armor are amazing.
Skywars isn’t just a game of who has better gear, it’s a game of who has the better skill and knowledge of the game. The fights that you think are unbalanced are the main reason the game is popular removing it would take many players away from it. Plus if you want sword to deal more damage go to classic.
Plus, it’s not like with diamond armor that a sharpness 1 sword would still do a good bit of damage. And poison boombox’s and fire charges ignore armor. (except if you have fire resistance) Not to mention how much bow and regular damage do.
And you if you opponent is somehow still alive, just combo them into the void(unless you want there armor)
