When you play Murder Mystery, your chances of getting Murderer and Sheriff relative to everyone else increases after each round. When you are finally assigned one of them, your chance drops significantly for that role. This is mostly a great system, however, when you leave the game, your chances are heavily impacted. They don’t seem to completely reset, but they do go down by a large amount. This means that if you have to stop playing for a minute, or your game crashes, or even if you exit to hub by accident, you lose a lot of your progress towards getting a special role. Of course, you could still get the roles on a lower chance, but it’s still incredibly frustrating if you’ve been building up your chances for a while only for them to get massively reduced, often due to something out of your control.
My proposed solution is to just store each player’s individual weighting between sessions. It’s clearly possible since The Hive stores all sorts of data about players when they’re not online, and it would be much fairer on the player since they would no longer get penalised for simply leaving the game.
