This is basically this post below, I just have another idea similar to it 
It would be a hive event, where there would be a hole in the secret science room in that cave, and in the hole, there will be a futuristic room like the arcade. It would say that it needs these things that would be in random locations around the hub, and when you collect them, Dr. zuk explains what is happening and why the hub is different. Then there would be a pair of VR headsets, letting you take one as a hat and maybe you could use it to go to a world like the old hub, but it’s more run down then usual.
I just thought of it now so it’s not that well thought out but feel free to add stuff!
