I agree with your statement about the pricing. 10 gold, or the same as a stack of planks, seems reasonable to me. However, if you’re a good bridger, you can grab ‘the slate’ and fully protect your bed 50 seconds in. Less and less people are doing this though.

Or 2 diamonds. More use for them would be good.
