Sardines
Now this might sound confusing, but I feel like it would totally be a fun mode of gameplay. After spending around an hour googling random things because I love to waste time, I came across a little image with a description of a hide and seek variant named “sardines”. Essentially, it is the opposite of hide and seek.
One hider will hide and the seekers will attempt to find them, except when a seeker finds the hider, they join in hiding in the same room/area, leading most seekers to be packed together in an area with the original hider, hence the name “sardines”. In the end, there is generally one seeker left to needs to locate said “sardines”. Obviously maps would have to be smaller or there would be no chance for seekers to find the hider.
This game would probably give you a 75% chance of being a seeker, and a 25% chance of being the hider. As someone who really enjoys starting off as the seeker and locating the hiders, this gameplay seemed really good to me. I’m sure there are some who dislike being a seeker because it is more difficult.
Would this need a separate statue in the hub? Probably not. I was thinking it could be added as an option when you click hide and seek, for example, one of the buttons in the hide and seek menu.
Update: I came up with a few name options? Seek and sneak? Seek that sneak? Seek the sneak? I’m really fond of using the word seek and the word sneak for this variant.
I’ll attach the image I found to this post. :>
