Idea:
Each seasonal event (Hive-O-Ween, Christmas, Easter/Spring event, etc.) will have its own leveling system and rewards that coincide with it.
More Information
Due to these being seasonal and therefore limited, I propose that leveling should not be exponential, and instead follow a linear path with the same XP being required per level up.
- XP boosters would have no effect
- The XP from ALL mini games on the hive would contribute to leveling up the seasonal catalog
- 100 levels max (or 50 or less to reduce strain on the Hive workers)
- 2500 XP per level (5000 for 50 lvl, 10000 for 25 level, etc) (I remember it only taking me around 20 min to complete that level for MM, and assuming around 20 min on average would take around 30 hours of gameplay to max the catalog)
- Previous season lvls would be shown on a your stats to view your performance for that season
Ideas for catalog:
- for level 100 costume gift, or custom costume for the season
- Use some of the old cosmetics (put in higher levels, like 80-100) from winter bundles, Halloween bundles, etc, to encourage people who don’t pay to play more.
- Other fun stuff (comment your ideas!)
Limitations:
- Realistically making seasonal specific cosmetics for 100 levels for all seasonal events may not be possible due to the limited workforce the hive has. To compromise, we could limit levels, reuse cosmetics (as suggested before), have no rewards for some levels or use XP boosters as placeholders, replace the daily rewards during Christmas and other ways in which I have not thought of.
- Would have to be available to all to reduce received hate, and will have to be fun for all levels of play (meaning those who play little as compared to playing 24/7 grinders). May entail a slight exponential leveling experience in which i came up with the following function and what it entails.
f(x)= 1.0825^x + 1750
|Level in Catalog | XP Needed |
|0 | 1750 |
|25 | ~1760 |
|50 | ~1800 |
|75 | ~2150 |
|100 | ~4500 |
This would allow for a pleasant experience for those just looking for some quick rewards while providing the effort and work needed for grinders and those looking for the exclusive, reused rewards and the costume gift at the end of the journey.
Now assuming we use this function, the total xp, found using the sum of the exponential function yields to approximately 213,110 xp and assuming 3000 xp equals 20 minutes of gameplay, divide by 20/3000 to get ~1420 minutes or around 23.8 hours of playing which should be reasonably assuming 2 hours is played per day (assuming 2 week long event)! Sorry for all the assumptions, I’m doing my best over here

Please comment and vote if you could see this becoming a reality and feel free to show off some ideas for possible cosmetics!
