Idea (TL;DR)
Have tiers to each challenge, each higher tier requiring a larger amount and giving a larger reward. If you have a question or criticism, please read the whole post as it may already be regarded.
My Proposal
Hive only just now released the final challenge for S1, after 5 FRICKIN MONTHS. To keep this from happening again, we could have maybe 5 tiered challenges next season, but get 75 challenge medals total to spend (with the stated amounts).
Details
For the sake of understanding, Lets say next season we have these 5 challenges:
- Earn Final Kills
- Break Beds
- Win Games
- Spend Gold
- Spend Emeralds
At the start of the season, these would be named:
- Earn Final Kills Ⅰ
- Break Beds Ⅰ
- Win Games Ⅰ
- Spend Gold Ⅰ
- Spend Emeralds Ⅰ
Lets say for each one you have to get 50 of each; 50 Finals, spend 50 gold*, etc. Once you finish one, you’ll earn your rewards and the challenge will upgrade to the next tier. After you’ve broken 50 beds and spent 50 gold, the challenges will be named:
- Earn Final Kills Ⅰ
- Break Beds ⅠⅠ
- Win Games Ⅰ
- Spend Gold ⅠⅠ
- Spend Emeralds Ⅰ
Every tier doubles the requirement, so for tier ⅠⅠ, you now have to get 100 of the requirement. This would repeat until tier Ⅴ, where you have to get 1600 of each and have completed the challenge in it’s entirety.
For each challenge, when completed, you will be granted the amount of Challenge Medals corresponding to the tier of the challenge, e.g. for Spend Gold Ⅰ, you would get one medal, whereas Earn Final Kills ⅠⅠⅠ, you would get 3.
Notes
These proportions and amounts are just theoretical (and me being to lazy to add realistic ones lol), they aren’t the important part of the suggestion! I know some of these are unrealistic, like 1600 wins for tier Ⅴ.
With this system we could also introduce rarity into the cosmetics, with pricing having the possibility to be much more precise.
