With the new update, Murder Mystery players are being forced to adapt to a changing meta. While adapting is part of any evolving game, some of these changes need to be reconsidered. In particular, I believe Chorus Fruit should be removed entirely.
What does Chorus Fruit do?
When used, Chorus Fruit teleports the player to a random location on the map.
Following the recent update, its impact has increased significantly because:
- The rate at which players earn Bux has increased
- The cost of Chorus Fruit has been reduced by half
As a result, the item is now both inexpensive and readily available in nearly every match.
Why should it be removed?
Inaccurate Representation of Skill
Murder Mystery is a game where success is primarily determined by:
- Map knowledge
- Reading opponents and predicting their movement
- Positioning and controlling space
- Mechanical aim and throwable accuracy
Chorus Fruit bypasses many of these core skills while offering virtually no direct counterplay.
Because it allows an quick escape (following the short time required to eat) to a random location, an innocent player can:
- Discover the murderer’s identity and immediately teleport away as soon as the situation becomes dangerous.
- Escape whenever the murderer starts to gain an advantage during a 1v1, effectively resetting the cat-mouse chase.
This results in situations that lead directly to the loss of the murderer.
Luck ≠ Skill
By giving innocents an inexpensive, easily accessible escape tool with no meaningful counter, Chorus Fruit undermines the core gameplay of Murder Mystery.
Rather than rewarding skillful positioning, prediction, and decision-making, it frequently rewards a lucky escape. This creates an imbalance where the less-skilled player can avoid the consequences of poor positioning and secure an undeserved win.
Conclusion
Chorus Fruit fundamentally conflicts with the skill-based nature of Murder Mystery.
It reduces the importance of map control, positioning, and prediction while introducing an escape mechanic that creates large disparity through benefitting innocent encounters.
For those reasons, I believe Chorus Fruit should be removed.

P.S. It can be argued that innocent detector and player sonar can be used as counters. However, the innocent detector has plenty of flaws in itself and often breaks on multi-level maps. The player sonar not only has a limited range, it does not show the intent of the player that is being pursued, making it another toss-up.
P.P.S. If deletion is not an option, at least disable its usage during 1v1 scenarios.
