/rank would be a new, cool, and (personally, in my opinion) helpful concept on The Hive. It would have two threads; /rank [check] and /rank [hide].
/rank [check] [player] would be a cool way to check your or others’ ranks in the game. This could be helpful in many ways: checking for Smurf accounts or hackers, simply checking if they have a set rank in a game (as you can not see it for the time being.), or even reporting players.
/rank [check] lobby would essentially send a message privately to the executor listing the names of the people in the lobby/game and their ranks. This is helpful for verifying and seeing which people you may want to play with, and so on.
/rank [hide] would be similar to the [YouTube] rank exclusive /nick command. This would not change your name, however, just your rank, and you are not allowed by any means to change your rank to anything besides the normal rank. This command thread is exclusive to those with anything besides the normal rank (Hive+, Moderator, etc.), and it would be a convenient way to conceal your rank from others. /rank [check] would, however, be able to bypass this. This command thread would be helpful to Hive+ members (as other ranks besides the normal and Hive+ ranks can already hide their rank at will) for a number of reasons. One, they can avoid targeting by other players, as Hive+ members are often seen as more serious and dedicated players; two, they can remain anonymous of their rank throughout the game for privacy or plain preference reasons; and three, it can help reduce beggars! I have seen countless Hive+ members being begged by normal ranks for Hive+, and it drives me nuts.
When a Hive+ rank member conceals their rank as a normal rank, they will still have the advantages and qualities of a Hive+ member, as they still have the rank.
/rank [hide] can also have certain safeguards. Perhaps limiting its usage or frequency in a way may help.
