Quest-Points Cosmetics Shop

Quest Points Redeem Rewarding method

[add a way for monthly and gifting methods for using Quest Points to redeem Hats and even pets, or Mounts. Call this the Hive Cosmetics and the Hive Gift Cosmetics]

In the Quest Points redeem Shop the gifts cost more triple and because of that I think The Hive Gift Cosmetics Should cost 2000QP-Quest-Points reasonable right while The Hive Cosmetics should cost 750QP-Quest-Points:

[this method is fair and Equal and also this works perfectly with the additional benefits of you can purchase Quest Points for 2 dollars for the people that get in a rush, but they also must must be free for if you complete quest]

I think the cosmetics would need to be AT LEAST over 5000 QP, only because cosmetics have a very high worth.

The gift cosmetics are pretty balanced, and they don’t need a change.

I’ve already made a suggestion about buying QP, and let me tell you, it’s not a good suggestion. Buying QP would defeat the purpose of quests, leading to a less player count.

Hey there, ScythedPhantom here to clear some things up.

Cons

There are some instantly prevalent issues with this idea, and the main few are the issues of:

  1. Lower Playerbase
  2. High value of cosmetics now able to be bought with a fair bit of grinding
  3. Great setup now, why change so soon

My opinion on any other bought cosmetics being available through quest points extends ONLY to hats, and that is a stretch almost. As cool as it would be to be able to buy mounts and pets through extended grinding, I think if it should be available at all it should be through extended streaking, or certain max gamemode rewards (like a prestige in a game or something, idk).

Pros

With some of the cons out of the way, I’d like to talk about the pros, since I don’t want this post to be entirely negative, and it seems like you’ve thought about this idea a little, so I don’t want to completely bury your post with negative remarks. So with that being said, here are some pros to this idea:

  1. Potential boost to playerbase, if people already play Hive quite a bit, playing more and doing more grinding could be good incentive to maybe bring more players in
  2. This could be great if combined with the new “challenge master” coming in the Bedwars microhub
  3. Could be a cool opportunity for the Hive staff to add more quests to the questmaster, maybe create a more complete “Quest master 2.0”.

I don’t want to keep you here all day, so let’s finish up.

Statistics

Finally, let’s talk statistics. For the sake of the post, let’s say the price of a more high-value cosmetic is 2000QP. As a player with Hive+, you can get a total of 150QP per day, by doing both 30QP quests, all 4 20QP quests, and finally the 2 10QP ones you have left before you run out of quests, and have to wait for the daily limit to reset (reset happens at 8:00 PM EST). It would only take 13.3 days of that to get a cosmetic. That is way too fast and nobody would buy cosmetics anymore, just grind for a little while and you can get one for free, tanking the income of Hive. Even if the price was 8000QP, you’re still able to do that in roughly 2 months.

Last remarks

So to finish up, this could be a cool idea in theory, but I think it would require a complete overhaul of the Quest Master and how QP works, so in the end it won’t happen. I will still vote for this though, in case someone can find a good way to implement this into Hive. Thanks for posting, and I hope you can think of some good ideas in the future. Bye!

hive has said they won’t make mounts or pets free aside from joke ones. That aside, I do think qp could have more uses like to purchase unlocks in different games (arrow trails, kill effects, movement particles, etc) or to buy new qp-specific hats.

qp specific hats, yes. unlocks? no. again, ruins the point of grinding.

you can grind the game for level-specific unlocks and grind qp for qp-specific unlocks, I fail to see how having qp-specific unlocks would ruin the point of grinding. That being said I’d still much prefer hive Java’s old system where you got game-specific points by playing and could then spend those points on unlocks for that same game.

Yes this could be the case, but there doesn’t seem to be any reason to do so. I’m not a big fan of this idea in the first place, but that is something I wouldn’t want to vote for.

why aren’t you a big fan of an extra reason to play hive, as well as a reason to play a variety of different hive games? Also both a qp system or a points system would give a large reason to still play the game after maxing, allowing loyal hive players to still enjoy grinding instead of having to stagnate while hive releases new content.

Do I really need to tell you why? I have my opinions, you have yours.

First off I didn’t mean to come off as regular cosmetics I mean brand new limited edition cosmetics second your set up is okay but these are literally limited cosmetics and only 1 is selected to show monthly

By the way I said every month but later on I forgot to type something so I had to make a quick new topic but I would love it if the quest points collected amount a would go to a amount of 50QP for non ranked players and 80QP for bought ranked players and 160QP for higher ranked members this resets Every 12 Hours
