The problem isn’t the maps, it’s the opponents.
Picture this:
You’re a level 10 who just got on for the day and wants to play some CTF. You’re not that good but you’re fairly decent. Suddently, five players join and they’re all level 40-50. Now when the game starts, you have level 5s, 15s, 1s and maybe 20s if lucky, while they have players with hundreds if not thousands of games WON. Yoy can see why a lot of people leave.
Sadly, a big problem with this is that this game is run so much by those players keeping it active that you can rarely get a game (unless at perfect times in 5m or more) without sweats. This typically means that for every 10 games, 9 will have sweats. This leads to players leaving all their games trying to find one where they can have fun.
If someone isn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be mad if they left. Sure I won’t have fun either, but it’s more of an issue with the game than the fun seekers.
