Prioritize filling missing armor

I think it’d be so cool if in public games the diamond ore tried to give you armor you don’t already have.

This would reduce frustration, make mid less op, and lead to more fun games with full armor fights. Chest luck would be less of an issue, and skill would be more impactful.

Chest luck would still be a large factor and mid would still be very important to get to fast for the items and projectiles however, so mid rushing would still be the best strat. This wouldn’t change how the game is played, it would just reduce people running for not having full gear and in general make the game more enjoyable for everyone.

This may be the only time I’ll ever agree with something you said.

Why’d you say in public games though? If they made this change wouldn’t it make sense to have custom games act the same by default unless changed in the settings?

I feel like getting full diamond should still be a bit of a challenge since it is the best armor.

Maybe something like this:

Let’s say you’ve got yourself diamond boots. Good job! The chances for diamond to give you leggings, chestplate, or helmet will each be 25%, with boots having a 10% chance, and sword 5%. Then, you get a chestplate. There’ll be a 40% chance to get leggings or a helmet, 5% for chestplate and boots, 10% for sword. Then you get a helmet. Finally, there’ll be a 60% chance to get leggings, with the other armor and sword being 10% each. Then you get a sword, with leggings becoming an 80% chance, 5% for everything else.

This option maintains the difficulty of getting diamond armor whilst still making it much easier to achieve. I do agree that it is a pain when trying to get that last piece of armor, so still voted.

definitely, so annoying taking 2x the dmg all from missing 1/2 an armor bar cuz of how hive damage mechanics work
