the bubble animations are a very good idea tho, maybe bubbles under it while its in the air so it doesnt look like its flying with magic

Imma stop talking after this but really you guys are over complicating it. It can just swim through the air, no need for any robot fish bowl or magic bubbles. Just have it swim through the air

I think I should bump this post I really would think a fishy friend would be nice.
This reminds me of the pet shop in the arcade, where there was an ecosystem for each pet, but for some reason there was an aquarium with nothing in it. I love the design too!
