To be honesty I think that the wepens in Hive
Should be changed, Hive is just using:neutral_face: minecraft wepens. So I think Hive should a their wepens!
Different pvp!
Different damage!

No, if they removed vanilla items it would feel not like MC. More custom items would be cool but not all.
