New staff role : skin mod

On hive now there is a problem with people who’s skins are unfair often missing an arm or a head. The skin mod would be playing games like a normal player what they can do is a command that let’s them put on a locked costume on the person that has the unfair skin. (The costume should be hip hop or something maybe even a blank skin) The person with the unfair skin will be locked to only hive costumes till he makes a ticket showing his new skin. The requirements should be 14+ because it’s not a hard job. This would be good because instead of relying on players reporting for him to be banned 2 weeks later the skin mod would do it whenever he sees an unfair/inappropriate skin.

IDK about that… still voted

In bedwars I always see people with unfair skin that’s like missing an arm or something

Maybe make the skin looks like Java Minecraft properties that doesn’t allow transparent parts, if the skin contains it, fill the part in pure gray

That would be a good idea but it would make fair skins look odd

If I’m not mistaken, I think they allow for a missing arm and a missing leg, just one of each though. It definitely sucks in my opinion that they allow that, but hey, if it’s allowed it’s allowed.

Short skins and missing heads i believe are against the rules, ill have to go double check this all though

Edit: i dont see anything about missing body parts so…
Anyways here’s the link for skin rules https://support.playhive.com/rules/#👕-skins

Also, you need to be at least 16 (in England; in other countries it is 18) to become a Helper

This YTber just have a skin b4 that is a head, arm and legless Steve

I think a better solution would be to introduce a reporting system for hubs rather than creating a separate rank for it. Another idea would be to implement some kind of system to restrict commonly used inappropriate skins.

I’m not sure how resource-intensive this would be, but one possible approach could be to store hashes of banned skins. If a player joins with a skin that matches one of those hashes, their skin could automatically be replaced with a default Hive skin. Alternatively, you could implement something similar to a “shadow skin ban,” where the player can still see their own skin, but everyone else sees a default Hive skin instead.

I understand that implementing something like this would require development time and resources, but I don’t think moderation and player safety systems should be an area where corners are cut. At the end of the day, we all want The Hive to be a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

If you would be getting money for it, you would need to have an 18+ requirement because as a kid you can’t work (legally) but yeah you can have a part time job at 15 on Slovakia so maybe it’s ok? But I don’t know

No that’s for studio jobs helper is 15 globaly

No it would be a voluntary role

To be fair, I have skins like that but I only use them in hub.

Not in hubs in game is the problem

ever heard of a hitbox mod?

No, but how is that relevant?

You can report them as usual using /report, and the existing moderation team will look into it. I don’t really see a reason for that, then.

Nice!! I think that skin moderator deals with people wearing unfair skins way less than cheaters do, so I think it would be good to add other roles too. …

You can report players using inappropriate skins in-game using the /report command, and we plan to eventually bring this feature to hubs.

We are always looking to improve our systems and workflows for handling these things, but we will not be creating a dedicated staff rank for this purpose.
