New Hive Gameode!

  First of all I know this is a dupe, but hear me out! I have been playing Hive for a very long time and with it I have become very interested in sumo. I have seen many posts requesting a hive sumo game-mode but from what I have seen none of them are super well thought out.

Here is my idea:

Sumo would be a game-mode added in an upcoming arcade/game update. It would be a somewhat small circular arena that you would try to hit your opponent off of. Best of 3 wins. Before anybody says “well mobile/controller players might not like it” I have an idea to address this issue as well. To separate the skill gap between pc and controller/mobile players, Hive could add skill based matchmaking similar to bridge, OR do something new and do platform based matchmaking. This would mean controller players que controller players mobiles que mobiles, etc. I believe if Hive added this game-mode, it would bring back a lot of players. Hive has a very big sumo and competitive community. Adding this game-mode would bring attention to those communities and grow them.

COSMETICS

Along with any Hive game-mode there are in-game cosmetics that you receive from playing and leveling up. Here is a list of ideas for cosmetics and rewards:

Trails- particle trails left behind when you walk. Color would change as you level up.

Belts- Similar to in martial arts you could get belts that you can wear in the game-mode. Color could change as you level up.
White: levels 1 - 5
Blue: levels 6 - 10
Purple: levels 11 - 15
Brown: levels 16 - 20
Black: levels 21 - 29
Red: level 30, or given to top 10 leaderboard players?

Hub Titles- This ones pretty self-explanatory

The Sumo Master
Round 2 Fight!
Finish Him!
You Slipped Off!

Hats- In some of the more recent hive game-modes people receive a hat(s) once a certain level is reached.

Headband

Costumes- Once max level is reached (level 30) a costume will be granted, normally the 3d icon that represents the game.

Sumo wrestler: would look like a Japanese sumo wrestler

Win-streak
Win %
Victories
Losses
Deaths
Kills
Games Played

I know this idea was considered in swarms but since then swarms has been canceled and has left many wondering if we will ever get the long awaited sumo game-mode. I know if Hive added this it would be welcomed, as there are 50+ similar suggestions for this. If anybody has any questions about this idea please let me know. If a dev or mod happens to read this post, please consider this update.

I like the belts idea, but I’m fairly certain that red almost always goes before brown in the order of ranks. Whatever the order before is, black should be the last belt.

So the concept is “punch the other player until they fall off the arena”?
Sounds simple and fun!

I feel like this could be a gamemode where pbmm (or ibmm) could always be on since it would only be a 2 person game so tiny queue times. Also, I love the idea of sumo as a hive gamemode.
