Pet Wars!
The pets in the hive don’t do much. all they do is a random animation, and you can’t even take them into other games! Pet Wars would work in a similar way to Pokémon, Where your pets can use different attacks against each other. Now pets are a feature that are only available to people who pay for them, so add 3 free pets that don’t fly and don’t have as much animation, and have more generic abilities.
that way anyone can participate, while people with paid pets have still have benefits, with flashier moves and animations, and particle effects. (Paid pets however, do not have advantages over free ones.) here’s some ideas for some of the free pets:

As for the last 2 replies, the idea was that you could use free pets that i made, which was what ThunderBoomPika was refering to. no one seems to actually be reading the post. i wasn’t planning for it to be pay to play.
Let me clarify, no matter how many free ones you get, there being other ones you have to buy is pay to win. Since Pokémon each character has different health, attack, and those elements things, there will be ones that are better than others… pay to win.
Unless the ones you pay for are the exact same as the free ones, then its pay to win.
the ones that you pay for would have different abilities, but they wouldn’t be better. like how in Pokemon SWSH In the Expansion pack, there are tons of pokemon you couldn’t get if you didn’t buy the pack, but they arent better then all the rest. Edit: the payed ones aren’t better, but have flashier moves, and cool particle effects.
