New Game: Core Clash

  1. Game Overview
  • Game Title: Core Clash
  • Number of Players: 8
  • Game Duration: Up to 20 minutes

This is a PvP minigame between the Red Team and the Blue Team (4 vs 4). The game incorporates elements from both CTF and BW.

When viewed from above, the map looks like the image below.

As shown in the image above, there are three areas on the map: each team’s area and the central mid-area in the middle of the map.
Unlike BW and SW, the map is not floating in the air, and the ground continues. (similar to CTF)

2. Victory Condition
  • The team that reaches 1000 points first wins the game.
3. How to Increase the Points
  • Each team’s score increases by one point per second for each core of their team currently placed on the map.
  • As shown in the image above, there are a total of three core placement points on the map. One core can be placed at each placement point, and players aim to place as many of their team’s cores as possible at these points.
  • If the opposing team has already placed a core at a point, you can destroy it and replace it with one of your own team’s cores.
4. Shop and Team Chest
  • Players can use the shop, similar to CTF and BW, to upgrade their weapons and equipment, purchase various blocks and consumables to protect their cores, and activate team upgrades.
  • Players can spend in-game currency, “Tickets,” to purchase items from the shop.
  • Just like in BW, each team area has a team chest where team members can share items.
5. About Tickets
  • Each player can hold tickets as in-game currency, which, like in CTF, are not represented as items.
  • Each player receives 1 ticket per second.
  • Killing an enemy team player grants a kill bonus of 10 tickets, or a kill assist bonus of 5 tickets.
  • Destroying an enemy team’s core grants a destruction bonus of 30 tickets.

Definition of an “Assist kill”
Player A will be credited with an assist kill if Player A deals a total damage of at least 20% of Player B’s maximum health, and Player B dies within 15 seconds after Player A’s last attack, caused by Player C. In this case, Player C will receive the kill, and Player A will receive the assist kill.

6. Items

All of these items can be purchased in the shop by spending tickets.

Name Number of Consumed Tickets Description

TNT 50 It ignites immediately upon placement. The explosion can destroy everything except glass and obsidian.
Smoke Ball 50 This item is a Minecraft snowball, and it creates Smoke Particles around the impact area for 10 seconds. The smoke can temporarily conceal your presence, making it effective when escaping from enemy players or when destroying an enemy team’s core.
Turret 60 *See below
Core 30 Place this block at the core placement point.

① About Sword Upgrade

  • Each upgrade costs 25 tickets.
  • Upon death, the sword will be downgraded by one level.

② About Armor Upgrade

  • Each upgrade costs 50 tickets.
  • Equipment cannot be removed, dropped, or placed in the team chest.
  • Only leather armor applies to the entire body, while other armor applies only to the lower body, with the upper body remaining in leather armor.

③ Pickaxe Upgrade

  • Each upgrade costs 25 tickets.
  • Upon death, the pickaxe will be downgraded by one level.
  • Upgrading this will increase the mining speed of all blocks, including the core.
7. Team Upgrades

All of these can be purchased in the item shop by spending tickets.
The upgrades purchased will apply to all teammates until the game ends.

Name Number of Consumed Tickets Description
SharpnessⅠ 120 SharpnessⅠ will be applied to the swords of your teammates.
ProtectionⅠ (Ⅱ) 120 ProtectionⅠ will be applied to your teammates’ armor. If ProtectionⅠ has already been purchased, it can be upgraded to ProtectionⅡ by consuming an additional 120 tickets.
HasteⅠ 120 HasteⅠ will be applied to the pickaxes of your teammates.
8. Initial Items
  • At the start of the game, players are equipped with armor dyed in their team color.
  • All players at the start of the game and players who do not have a sword after respawning will receive a wooden sword.
  • Immediately after respawning, players will be immune to all damage for up to 5 seconds, or until they attack a player from the enemy team (to prevent spawn killing).
  • Additionally, regarding the cores, the game starts with each team’s core placed at their respective core placement points in their area, and each player is given one core at the start of the game.
9. Death
  • When killed by a player from the enemy team, the player will die but can respawn in their team’s area after a 5-second waiting time (this can happen multiple times).
  • Although items in the player’s inventory are retained upon death, the sword and pickaxe will be downgraded by one level.
10. About Turrets

I have two suggestions for entities that protect the core:

① Turret

  • The turret regularly shoots arrows towards enemy players in the vicinity (similar to the Island Turrets in BW).
  • Of course, players can attack and destroy them.
  • Like in BW, there will be a limit to the number of turrets that can be placed.

② Core Protector (Iron Golem)

  • The Core Protector spawns near your team’s core and continuously patrols the area to defend it.
  • The Core Protector targets and attacks enemy players that approach the core.
  • Players can attack and kill them. Or after 100 seconds from spawning, they will disappear.
  • Like turrets, there will be a limit to the number of Core Protectors that can exist at the same time.

For these behaviors, I have recreated a simplified version in a Spigot plugin. For more details, please check the following video.

11. Cosmetics
  • Shopkeeper Skin
  • Core Skin
  • Turret Skin
  • Kill Message
  • Projectiles

12. Notes

  • The ticket consumption for each shop item and team upgrade mentioned above is tentative.
  • Players’ hunger is always at maximum, and, like in BW, the player’s remaining health will be displayed above their head.
  • If necessary, I can fully recreate this game using a Spigot plugin (I have only developed part of it so far) and show you actual gameplay.
  • Feel free to share any feedback or suggestions!

Ngl the game name sounds like the one game mode with the same name from galaxite

it is, and I HATE that gm, so I do not want this added at all. ever. no.

Ah, I see. I haven’t played much on the Galaxite server, so I didn’t know.
I’ve changed that name.

Too similar to other games

core wars is just bedwars; imo its pretty fun whenever Im bored of hive

but yeah this does seem an awful lot to me like a cross between bedwars and ctf. I do really like the points system though

I prefer the Entity. It scares me

This seems like a cool idea. I really love how it’s like a control point kinda game.

ik it’s just bedwars, but I hate everything about core wars, it just gives me bad vibes, also, we removed tw to add in bedwars, so I do not think hive will add this
