Further adding to the fear factor, if everyone in the lobby has a bow, the murderer might never kill, they’d be terrified!
I agree with Quick_Slowness
Although I most definiey see your point, I would disagree.
I believe strategies and tactics like the one you are referring to actually increase the competitiveness of the game and entice innocents and the sheriff to play in tangent with eachother in order to stop the murderer from idling next to an objective.
I am more than open to other ideas and comments as this is an interesting topic!
The issue with this is that it’s being assumed that camping in the same spot will always work, unfortunately as time passes players learn that there is a possibility that the Murderer is camping there.
This would cause more confusion for innocents, likely having shot each other because another innocent was waiting there, or games where the Murderer ‘is not playing’ because they are anticipating for the gate to open.
I can understand that MM has a strategic point, but there is a difference between good strategy and bad strategy.
For Innocents an example of Good Strategy would be players playing in a pack to watch over each other in case the murderer approaches, or splitting up in different directions to hunt the murderer. However an example of Bad Strategy would be staying still anticipating someone else to finish the game, or following other players looking like the murderer.
For Murderer, a Strategic Murderer would never stay in the same spot, not for a large portion of the game, the longer you are in a spot the more likely you will be caught, moving around makes you harder to track, along with that monitoring where people are going. Of course keeping in mind where keys are, if you see a key is collecting you can move to that point to kill the person, but inciting to sit on the key, or to sit at the entrance to a bow is not good strategy as the Murderer. As already mentioned, the Murderer benefits from movement, not from staying in the same spot all game.
The signs are on the wall, the Murderer shouldnt have to feel the need to make a bad play, because a feature is proving to arm every player in potentially the first 20-30 seconds of the game. We learned from Pigment, we learned from how the new coins initially worked, and now we are facing a similar issue after giving time to see how the Map will play out, this is the result.
Not only that, Castle Town is literally the only map people are voting for. Backrooms? Forgotten. Office? Nope. Warehouse? Never. Whenever I play MM it’s Castle Town. I mean, the map design is good and I have no problem with the map itself but I hate the fact that it is the only map I get to play. I started when Manor and Warehouse were the only two playable maps, I hated Office for getting all the votes when it came out. Then bedrock became unplayable on dual monitors and I stopped playing, but now whenever I play it is that map. I grew to hate castle town so much because of that.
Dual monitor? how does that work? and also why was did it stop working and why not just use one?
This is getting added to my list of best replies I’ve read, and I thank you for not thinking only about winning. All the points mentioned here are very valid and really concrete solid.
Yeah I mean I get that, but even then it just makes the game annoying to play. I’ve also been shot at armory for no reason before, and have had murderers camp that area, and if the sheriff dies there and the murderer is slightly new, they will camp, and it gets very frusterating.
Hey Eushdy, are you still alive? Well, if you are, I’ll give you my honest opinion. I have read most of the comments, and some of them seem right to me. But don’t be discouraged bro. Maybe in a few days I can help you by posting some ideas.
I will give this a bump as players know most if not all key locations by now, meaning all innocents can easily receive a bow within 30 seconds of the game. This was also an issue on Pigment back in the days, which has since been fixed by simply giving an extra arrow instead of a bow.
Especially considering the keys are globally collected, it makes it way too easy for all innocents to quickly receive a bow. Therefore, it should either be changed to work like on Pigment (only granting an extra arrow instead of a bow) or like the chest on Remnants (random chance of getting an arrow, armor, jump boost, speed, or nothing), as it is so easy to get.
