We already have the wooden sword, a fake bow is just too much. Maybe a crossbow, but remember sharp eyed innocents will just spot that out of your hand and all the sudden its pointless. Just try to hold an item besides the sword, if you are holding nothing at all you look suspicious. Tons of innocents only hold a bow when using it. I think this could maybe happen on maps with like the chance things, instead of iron armor (which is worthless to the murderer)
The point is that it would confuse innos, and this feature wouldnt meet fruition anyways until more late game stealth strats, it could be good for the mur and allow them to infiltrate groups of people more effectively instead of it just being like, “Oh that guy doesnt have a bow yet so lets just shoot em,” which is often how pacifist rounds go or late game with clear areas. I think it would be good as it would force people to be more aware of the players and the situation of the game.
I’m still a solid no because then some pacifists (more lower levels) would just hold the fake bow for ages, lengthening games that already take forever because they don’t kill. Bows are a good way to make sure someone’s an innocent, if the games taking forever and you don’t have a bow you shouldn’t be hanging around in innocent groups or you might get shot, its part of the game. As for the murderer this is too op in my opinion, then you wouldnt be able to do big innocent parties because you couldnt tell whos murd and whos not. Personally I’d be suspicious of anyone, I tend to not hold my bow and flash it at others with a bow. With this update people like me who dont hold their bow so the murderer doesn’t know they have one would have no flashy way of displaying our innocence to others.
If this was added all the sudden you’d get people shooting anyone who looks suspicious with or without a bow, worsening the problem you mentioned.
The entire point of being murderer is to kill people, we already have the flood valves in castle town and the boxes in the backrooms map, I don’t think murderers should be encouraged to collect even more coins, as that drags the game on for the innocents.
It would only worsen the problem in skill issue situations where they couldn’t remember a skin who was murderer, it would literally change nothing except giving the murderer SLIGHTLY more protection against unsuspecting innocents. The only scenario I could imagine this worsening would be for same skin situations, where the mur and an inno have the same skin, which could make it slightly harder to decipher
First off, the valves are genuinely worse for the murderer as they cut off their own pathing to get to the other side more efficiently. Second, they give everyone a five second warning and unless you are basically walking, you can make it out easy. For the flood valves to be even a slightly effective trap, the price would have to be lower, because then the trap would be actually reasonable to use instead of getting apples, and the water would have to go down again after some time to allow for better pathing instead of playing ring-around the Rosie for five minutes.
You’re right the murderers point is to kill people, so then why are all the traps so ineffective? They literally stall out the game for longer with the status they are at, for lights on any map, the innocents just pick a corner and hide, and the murderer just kinda runs around aimlessly hoping someone’s around, and the gift boxes aren’t even really a trap, it’s a tool for both sides, that provide slightly more protection in desperate situations.
We all do, but people still shoot us, I’ll literally be sheriff, showing people I’m sheriff, and I’ll get shot by some noob who doesn’t know the mechanics yet. Regardless, we all try and do that, and when you see someone who doesn’t pull out a bow, isn’t that kinda a red flag? Now if the murderer could get a bow, wouldn’t that be more interesting and something more to look out for? It’ll keep you on your toes more too instead of getting comfortable with a slow-paced game, similarly it could allow for different murderer gameplay as it would allow for a more stealthy routing and more strategical approach. So I don’t know if this convinced any of you all or not but I hope it shined some light on the other perspectives of the issue at hand
