Just a couple suggestions; we should be able to edit the floor block for block, use blocks like cobwebs, flint and steel (for fire details), paintings, shovels for path blocks ETC… It feels very limited at the moment
You can make your own floor above the existing floor which is essentially making a new floor block by block

The only downside to this is that you cannot alter the current floor (ex: you wanted a small pattern in the middle of a grass floor, you would have to build a whole layer of grass for that pattern) This is also useful because since your building the floor ontop of the default floor it will stick out rather than being on level with the surrounding area.
