In the future update, instead of removing the glitch, we should make throwing throwables through panes easier, more seamless, and allow for more strategic playing for the murderer.
More information:
Glass panes are present on almost every map in murder mystery. Currently, to execute the throwable bug, you have to line yourself up, quite precisely, to get the throwable through the pane without it breaking to even have the slight chance at cutting the angle off. But, why get rid of the bug when we could instead make it a feature? By making throwables go through glass, it could make securing some kills a lot safer, more efficient, and allow for more strategic murderer play. It would allow for more variety as apposed to playing ring-around-the-Rosie on office and spaceship, in particular.
What do yall think? (If you agree make sure to vote )
Honestly never thought about them doing that, that might be hard to implement but I could definitely see massive usage of it off the top of my head, especially in office. To make it fair the broken glass should be able to be usable by both parties, innocent and murderer for mobility, otherwise that would get OP wayyyyy to quick
Well only the murderer would be able to break the glass, as the throwable would be the cause of it, but it would genuinely depend on its use
Regardless of its usage tho for those who can use it strategically and therefore the innocents having to combat it, there would be a change of pace just in general and could allow for a lot of fun and experimental pathing!
I remember when i pushed to 100 facing campers
on that one area on office i used the trick with the glass pane. I still feel that nothing bad really happened with the “bug” if you want to call
it that. Bring it back!
I feel like that argument could be used about a lot of things, like for SW why do we need the spells? We have everything else, or for BW, why do we need the totems? The point of these features and items isn’t to be used in every game, it’s to provide versatility to the player and to allow more strategic thought to options for getting the winning result. That would be the same thing here, you’re right, it’s not NEEDED but it would allow for more versatility and more possible options, as well as reinforcing the skill in reading player’s movements and catching them off guard. Similarly, if we were to incorporate breaking the panes, it could allow for more advanced gameplay with the new skills pertaining to path finding and attacking angles as well as introducing new styles of counterplay in regards to the innocent side of the coin. So you’re right this feature isn’t needed; HOWEVER, it can help provide a slight change of pace and new gameplay which MM is in need of right now.
And @xTarheels44 congrats on the lvl 100! Regardless, you’re right, nothing has necessarily happened to the bug itself, I forgot where, but I remember hearing they plan on getting rid of it in a future update (please correct me if I’m wrong ) and I wanted to address the possibility of turning it into a feature before that can occur! Also I think it would be right to call it a bug, as if the throwable comes in contact with any block it breaks, but it’s just based off your positioning and the block width of the pane that it is possible, so I just wanted to propose to make it a feature of going through the pane without any nitpicky positioning and such. I hope that makes sense
Regarding your actual question, perhaps there could also be a challenge or something to raise awareness for the ability, I feel like Hive could easily do that for the vast majority of the small things in MM. Likewise, Hive could also add a small portion of text highlighting this in murderer summary or something.
For instance —regarding a way to raise awareness for the ability via challenges— you could get something for getting 10 kills through glass panes and the player would have to figure out how to achieve that, every feature doesn’t need to be spelt out to the player, part of the fun, at least in my opinion, is learning the small things along the way and using them to your advantage. A personal instance of this is how I adjust my positioning based off the effects of the soda machines on warehouse to try and counter any possible invis murderers
