I propose adding an exciting event to Skywars called “Wrath of Ares.”
Event Details:
In the center of the Skywars micro-hub, between game modes, a new NPC appears: Ares, the Greek god of war. The ground around him is cracked, as if he super-landed—according to the lore, he arrived from Olympus at Zeus’s command to collect “Bloody Ores.” Bloody Ores are special items that drop from defeated players with a chance dependent on rarity:
Iron: 50%
Gold: 40%
Redstone: 25%
Lapis Lazuli: 15%
Diamond: 8%
Emerald: 4%
Players can exchange accumulated ores with Ares for quests. The higher the ore rarity, the easier and more rewarding the quest Ares offers. For example, Ares might offer to exchange 10 Diamond Bloody Ores for a legendary quest: “Kill 1 player using TNT.” The reward: 500 experience and 10 gold drachmas (ancient Greek currency).
(To begin working with Ares and obtaining Bloody Ore, you must reach at least Skywars level 5.)
Hermes’ Shop:
In a designated area of the micro-hub (on the right), there’s an NPC, Hermes, the god of trade. His shop is restocked monthly with 5 new cosmetic items: 4 for all players and 1 exclusive to Hive+ subscribers. For example, the “Zeus’s Blessing” kill effect (a lightning strike upon a kill) costs 25 drachmas.
Hermes also offers daily (3 total, 2 for all, 1 for Hive+) and weekly (5 total, 3 for all, 2 for Hive+) challenges that reward experience and small amounts of drachmas. These challenges are only available in the “Classic Skywars” LTM mode to maintain its popularity. Ares’s quests are available in all modes except “Classic Skywars.”
Ares’s Might Bonus:
To increase the chance of Bloody Ore drops (from 50% to 75%), there’s a monthly bonus called “Ares’s Might.” It’s obtained by completing Ares’s quests:
(Example Quests):
For all players:
1. Kill 50 players with the Olympian Sword (seasonal item, a golden sword; 50% chance of explosion on hit; no ore drops from kills with this sword).
2. Find 10 Fragments of Prophecy (rare items found in mystery chests).
3. Win 10 games, getting at least 3 kills per game with Poseidon’s Trident (seasonal item, an enchanted trident; found in ender chests and mystery chests; no ore drops from kills with this trident).
For Hive+ players: Only 1 of the above quests needs to be completed.
Additional Notes:
The event requires balancing. It’s necessary to check if obtaining Ares’s Might is too easy or too difficult, and to balance the difficulty of Ares’s quests and their rewards, as well as Hermes’ challenges.
